Most favorite line from a war movie (1 Viewer)

"Today... is Christmas! There will be a magic show at zero-nine-thirty! Chaplain Charlie will tell you about how the free world will conquer Communism with the aid of God and a few marines! God has a hard-on for marines because we kill everything we see! He plays His games, we play ours! To show our appreciation for so much power, we keep heaven packed with fresh souls! God was here before the Marine Corps! So you can give your heart to Jesus, but your *** belongs to the Corps! Do you ladies understand?"

"Who the f*** said that? Who's the slimey little communist s**t, tinkle-toed c***s*cker down here who just signed his own death warrant?! Nobody huh?! The fairy f***ing godmother said it! Out-f***ing-standing!"

Music, sweet music...:)

Don,t remember his exact words but Hartman wanted the head cleaned so well that the Virgin Mary would be proud to take a dump there.
That guy should have got an academy award.
Gary

My CSM with the 506 was a copy of Hartman- that guy could work profanity like an artist works a canvas. He was amazing!! 54 years old and could still max the PT test- in the 17-21 bracket!! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself but he ran the 2 mile run in 11:08!!

Anyway, he called me Sleeping Beauty- a story I will save for my comical moments thread.

Back on target, we should take a poll of these lines and have the members vote.

Can't believe this one from 'Gladiator' hasn't come up yet?? (Maybe I missed it):

"On my word... unleash hell!"

Or from 'Charge of the Light Brigade' a very funny one from a Brit officer:

"Oh look!... Wwussans!!"

A frustrated Michael Cain in 'The Battle of Britain:

"How much longer Ops? The engines are overheating and so am I. We either stand down or blow up - which do you want?"

And again from 'The Battle of Britain': The English Sqaudron Leader to his yabbering Polish underlings..

"Shutup!! Silence - in Polish!"

No Time for Sergeants:

Will Stockdale: Hey, Ben. Maybe you'll get to like the Air Force. Zoomin' all over the sky - and shouting, "Roger" and "Wilco" and everything. Maybe it won't be so bad.

Benjamin B. Whitledge: Bad? You know what they call men in the Air Force?
[Will shakes his head "no"]
Benjamin B. Whitledge: Air man! Like somethin' out of a dang funny book! Air man! How you gonna like it when somebody calls you "Air man"?

Will Stockdale: By dog, I just don't think I'll stand for it.

Best quote from a War movie ever!

Lord Raglan from the Charge of the Light Brigade

"It will be a sad day for England when her armies are officered by men who know too well what they are doing- it smacks of murder."

I also like Raglan's

"Young ladies should concern themselves with what is pretty. England is pretty... babies are pretty... some table linen can be very pretty... "

From the Battle of Britain of course...

"I'll give you a piece of advice: stay single."

and my favorite...

"Spring chicken to ****ehawk in one easy lesson."

Beaufighter

One more from Air America this time...

"Here at Air America, what's considered psychotic behavior anywhere else is company policy."

When The Battle of Britain was being filmed after all the aircraft were found. The movie company at the time had the world's 7th largest Air Force. Most of the German aircraft were leased from the Spanish Air Force. I forget where rest came from.

Maybe the Confederate Air Force?

When Sgt. Mike in SPR. says something to the effect, maybe saving pvt. Ryan is the one thing good that earns us a chance to get home from this God awful War.Mike:)

I like the line in Bridge too far when John Frost asked why his number two carried an umbrella all the time - can't remember the password.

The best has to be - Nuts - you couldn't make that up.

This is a great thread.

In Kelly's Hero's, everytime Oddball comes out with some more of his "proto-hippy nonsense" the look that crosses Kelly's face screams volumes.:cool:

Lots and lots of great lines in Zulu as well, but perhaps my favourite was one that wasn't in the movie;
Bromhead (in true-life Michael Caine accent), "Don't you point that bl@@dy spear - at me".:D:D

Cross of Iron, Sgt. Steiner:

"And I'll show you where the Iron Crosses grow."

and, of course, "Demarcation!"

The Lonest day, two GI's are approaching the back of German bunker when two Germans come out of the bunker yelling "bitte, bitte", the GI shoots them both and turns to his friend and says, "I wonder what bitte bitte meant."

“They don’t warm the pot, you know”

Tinkerbell whispering to the Flight Adjutant of Halfpenny Field after the American 8th Air Force arrive in their Flying Fortresses.
In case you’re uncertain Tinkerbell is referring to the teapot
