BTW: I mentioned to John that the Death of Wolfe set would not be complete without the Lt. Henry Browne figure and he seemed to agree. So maybe....

The grenadier with the green facings is from the 45th Rgmt. (Warburtons). They were present at the capture of Louisbourg, and as already mentioned their grenadier company was part of the ad hoc Louisbourg Grenadier battalion at Quebec.

Thanks Dragon..i consulted Robin May's Wolfe's Army for Osprey with plates by Embleton..the only regiment with green facings was the 45th..so the Louisburg grenadiers were a composite (as was usual at the time) battalion of the various grenadier companies ..i definitely need a good book about the Plains of Abraham battle..btw thanks!!!

Hi Mark. I have a new favorite, although it is not Ticoderoga. It is the WW1 aircraft series. These are simply the best.:D -- Al

Except for the 1812 artillery pieces, I am still stuck in the 18th century with no plans to move forward in time. My favorite sets are still the JJD Indian releases, especially those in firing poses, with marching soldiers gaining ground. I have never found the slightest fault with the Indian figures. But if I exhaust the outside reading on FIW era, I could be tempted to move to another arena. For myself, I have found that I really need to read the history to enjoy the collecting.

But from a quality standpoint, I would think the WWI planes would win any poll.

Hi Marco....
Right now B.O.M. is my favorite series, I have 2 to 4 sets of each set made I wanted
a big battle scene. But as my Highlanders are coming in and I am looking at my 3'x5' table
and thinking of all other Briths & French troops that will be out I think this will be my no.1
series for now till John comes out with another super suprise.

Wow...this thread started 2 years ago...I don't think I was collecting JJD back then...so I didn't comment...but I'm collecting them now...soooooo...

I think "my favorite" is far from the "crowd favorite"...I like Chippewa...I can honestly say that I think these figures are his best work overall...painting, sculpting and poses...I have bought several sets of multiples for this series and if I have a slow month on ordering...hahaha...I try to buy a few more...

I know sets #2-3-4-8-9-10 are retired...but they can be found pretty easily in most stores still...(but I think the factory is "out of stock")...with the exception of #8...it's a little tougher search I think...

I have heard a lot of people on the forum say that the Scott's Grays are boring in their blue/gray uniforms, that the conflict doesn't interest them or that it was a strange choice for John...but they are selling out and retiring...so I guess somebody is buying them other than me...

I think John spent a lot of time in the Niagara area and I think he has a fondness for this conflict...I am so happy that he is producing what I think is going to be one of the largest artillery crews of different poses assembled for this conflict...

I desperately need officers...so I hope he makes a couple of sets of those...he has talked about it...some officer's sets for the artillery and ranks...and I have begged for them...time will tell...

I started a large diorama for an artillery embankment with 4 gun placements being defended by the US side...I put it aside for quite a while now...it sits in the garage waiting for officers, guns and artillery crews...I just got the 24 siege gun for the Brit side...and hope we get some more artillery crews and officers for January...I would like to get back to work on that dio...

anyway...this is my favorite series...I have more multiples of this series than I do of any other...it makes a beautiful cabinet display...

I am planning to make as nice as Mike's Chippewa display is, but in Sudan instead. Hoping to see perhaps from London, some more upcoming Sudan items. Cheers, Robin

As a NAP collector, my favorites are the 1812 Redcoats opposing Mike's Scott Greys. These make a grand looking line too ... however I dont have even a fraction of what Mike has .

Nevertheless looking forward to see how John will develop the 1812 range.

I collect a several of JJ's series. If I had to pick a favorite it would be Culloden. I think John's Highlanders are some of the best figures I've ever seen.

For me, the hardest part of collecting JJD is trying NOT to get involved with another series. I'd love to collect the new Sudan and WWI aces, but just don't have the room and more importantly, the money.

Boy that's the truth...space and willpower...I have neither...my family had a good laugh at my shelves when they visited from out of town for Thanksgiving...

While I am a WW1 aviation fan, and love JJD's aircraft as the best thing JJD has done, I also think that the Jacobite series are far and away the best figures on the market. Their color and animation are second to none. -- Al
