Mountford's new world War One (2 Viewers)

I did not know the Land Girls went back that far. Now I understand why what your new figure was wearing was an outfit that looked quite different. I have seen the Asset figures but especially like the work you do.

In 1914 a number of war raised women's groups opened agricultural divisions but it was not until 1916 that the Women's National Land Service Corps, the fore runner of the Land Army, came into being. It was disbanded in 1919 and contributed in no small part to the victory. Glad you like the Asset figures, I had a lot of fun making them especially the group with the one on the gate being chatted up by the American paratrooper. These pics show the first uniform, the one with the plough shows the inspiration for the new group. Trooper

I received an email back but it wasn't terribly reassuring, almost in corporate speak:

"Good Morning,

Thank you for your interest in our new (very new) venture. We are currently in consultation with a well known British dealer/manufacturer regarding the sales and marketing of this new range of artillery and other relevant products to the WW1 era that we are currently developing and as soon as things are finalised we will most certainly be back in touch with you to properly answer your question.

If we can find the correct level of commercial interest we do certainly intend to produce a range of models from this period which we hope will fill a gap in the current market and be of real interest to collectors.

Regards,
Dave Love
Mountford MM Ltd."

So in other words...we might, may-be, just perhaps, think about it. ^&confuse

I have been thinking for a while about the way to implement and fund these kind of projects. I guess Yeomanry miniatures has a similar problem with funding.
I suggest crowdfunding on sites like Kickstarter would be right way to go. In this case you would not be dependent up on any "dealer/ manufacturer" and deal directly with your buyers through crowdfunding = pre-paid orders. If amount of money needed to fund a project is not received in 30 (60) days every contibutor gets his money back safely.
These sites charge between 4-10% of collected funds for their services.
If any assistance needed let me know
Just my 2 cents

Exactly. I just don't know what it means.

It's quite simple, if the time needed for marketing and sales can be undertaken by a third party then the new venture becomes much more viable and the existing work of both individuals concerned will not suffer. At the present moment things are looking very promising but the final details have still to be threshed out and Dave is reluctant, quite rightly, to be more definite until the deal is finalised, which should be within the next two or three days. As soon as everything is sorted then the news will be put on the forum. If this goes ahead, as I am sure it will, then a constant series of items will be produced. Dave and I already put in a seventy hour plus week each and neither of us are in the first flush of youth, (or the second, third or fourth come to that), and this assistance will make a world of difference as to what can be done. All will be revealed shortly. Trooper

I appreciate that getting a new venture going can involve an extraordinary amount of work. However, I think the disconnect comes because you posted that the artillery piece was available (and generated interest from a few people) when apparently it is not yet available.

Now, that the direction is clear, we will wait to hear from you when and if these items may become available.

The artillery piece IS available direct from Mountford. The negotiations I mentioned have only arisen on the day before yesterday and will facilitate future production. Any one wishing to purchase the gun can place their order with Mountford who will be only to happy to accomodate them. Trooper

Hi All,

Any news on the new WW1 releases? Sent a note to Mountford and Dave responded he will not be trading himself but a separate party would be fielding the sales effort....Any idea who and when this will happen?

Cheers
