STAR WARS---Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy denied reports she is retiring as head of Lucasfilm, “I am not retiring. I will never retire from movies. I will die making movies. That is the first thing that’s important to say. I am not retiring. What’s happening at Lucasfilm is I have been talking for quite some time with both [Disney’s] Bob [Iger] and Alan [Bergman] about what eventual succession might look like.”
She added, "We’ve been talking about [succession], as I said, nonstop for the last couple of years because for obvious reasons, I’m not going to be here forever. George [Lucas] asked me 13 years ago to step in, and now I’m looking at who’s going to replace me. And as I said, we have a bench of people internally to handle the business, the creative side. The job has grown also since I stepped in. There was no streaming, there weren’t a lot of the things that we’re involved in right now going on. So it has grown.”
Kennedy also commented on the status of three STAR WARS movie projects. She said Shawn Levy's movie is set after the Skywalker Saga, “Shawn’s is a standalone STAR WARS story that’ll take place post-nine, maybe five or six years out...And with this, it’s all pretty much new characters. We may bring some of the characters back from the sequel saga, but pretty much new characters.” Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in the Levy movie.
Kennedy commented on the Taika Waititi STAR WARS movie, “I keep waiting for Taika, and he is working with another writer now. He’s so busy.”
She added, “I love him. I think if we ever do get a script from Taika, it’s going to be fantastic. I already saw a first act that I loved, but tying him down, it’s tricky.”
In 2023, Waititi said, “My thing is I want to take my time with that and get it right. I don’t want to rush this movie.”
Kennedy also commented on the status of the Simon Kinberg trilogy, which will continue the Skywalker Saga, “That has gone exceptionally well, and he’s literally going to script as we speak. We’ll see something probably around June. “

STAR-WARS-1-FOTOR.jpg

CLAYFACE---James Gunn commented on rumors that Daniel Radcliffe will co-star in the DC Studios movie, “Because we don’t have a director yet, we haven’t even started the casting process. Daniel is great but we certainly haven’t talked to or considered him. So this one is 100% false.”

REMAIN---Jake Gyllenhaal and Alicia Vikander will star in the "supernatural romantic thriller" movie directed and co-written by M. Night Shyamalan.

DEXTER: RESURRECTION---Krysten Ritter will have a recurring role as Mia Lapierre, who may be a serial killer.

ICHABOD---Timothee Chalamet has reportedly been offered the starring role in the Disney live-action movie based on "The Legend of Sleep Hollow" short story.

MAD MAX---George Miller commented on a possible new movie in the franchise, “We’ve got another [MAD MAX] script, but having been doing this long enough where I’m habituated to storytelling, I find myself with way too many stories — not only in my head, but in the form of screenplays or at least very detailed notes that are within reach of screenplays. I’m a professional daydreamer, really. This was seen as my big deficit as a kid: ‘George would do better at school if he didn’t daydream so much’ was on my report card.
So, there’s lots of stories. Indeed, one of them is a MAD MAX. It is not something I would do next, because there’s two things I’m keen to do next. But if for whatever reason the planets align, you can never tell. Too often, you’re lining up to do a movie and then something happens. Some things fall into place and some don’t, so all I can say is we’ll see.”

MCU---Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum commented on if AVENGERS: SECRET WARS will lead to a reboot of the MCU, “[a reboot] a very difficult thing to do to a living, breathing fictional universe to just start from scratch, because of all of the fan investment and love for the stories that have come so far.”
He was asked if a MCU reboot had ever been discussed, “You’re going to have to ask Kevin [Feige] about the features. I’m on the TV side, but we do navigate the same waters and live in the same universe.”

ACADEMY AWARDS---fans were irate at the 97th Academy Awards "In Memoriam" segment for actors who died since last year's ceremony that were not mentioned. Those ignored included Tony Roberts, Michelle Trachtenberg, Tony Todd, Alain Delon, Martin Mull, Shannen Doherty and Olivia Hussy.

JOHN WICK 5---Keanu Reeves commented on a new sequel, “You know, the character’s dead. He died in JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4. I know, in Hollywood you can [revive dead characters]. I know, I know, it’s the Hollywood story. Right now, there isn’t [any plans].”

JAMES BOND---William Boyd, author of SOLO: A JAMES BOND NOVEL, commented on Amazon MGM Studios buying the creative rights to the James Bond franchise, "It is too late. The great schism is that the films have nothing to do with the novels. The films are preposterous action movies that have to sell globally and so cannot have too much dialogue."
He added, “Certainly wait for Bond aftershave – and for the theme park and the dinner jackets. The new owners will have to commodify everything about their billion-dollar purchase, so there will be nightclubs and vodkas.”

JENNIFER'S BODY---Amanda Seyfried commented on if a sequel to the 2009 cannibal movie that starred Megan Fox and Seyfried is underway, "We’re making another one.”

TIANA---Disney+ shelved the animated tv series based on the 2009 animated movie THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG.

TRIVIA---sci fi/horror writer Richard Matheson was happy with how Richard Donner directed his screenplay for the classic THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet"---except for the episode's Gremlin. The original director was Jacques Tourneur, who wanted the Gremlin to be as Matheson described it in his screenplay, "It was a hideously malignant face, a face not human. Its skin was grimy, of a wide-pored coarseness; its nose a squat, discolored lump; its lips misshapen, cracked, forced apart by teeth of a grotesque size and crookedness; its eyes recessed and small — unblinking. All framed by shaggy, tangled hair which sprouted, too, in furry tufts from the man’s ears and nose, birdlike, down across his cheeks."
However, Tourneur was replaced by Donner (who later gained fame as the director of SUPERMAN and the LETHAL WEAPON movies) for an unknown reason, and Donner wanted the Gremlin to be a creature. Matheson added, "I didn't think much of that thing on the wing. I wish Jacques Tourneur had directed it, because he had a different idea. The man who was inside that suit looked exactly the way I described him in the story. All they had to do was use him the way he was. Tourneur was going to put a dark suit on him and cover him with diamond dust so that you hardly saw what was out there. This thing looked like a panda bear."

VERTIGO---Steven Knight (PEAKY BLINDERS) commented on the status of Robert Downey Jr.'s remake of the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock movie starring Jimmy Stewart, “It’s swirling around in my head as we speak. I’m having flashbacks to about an hour ago when I was writing. It’s an interesting—I mean, of course, people consider it the best film ever made. So you’d have to be an idiot to adapt it, and so that’s what I am."
He added, “…But, you know, I like stuff like that. I like it. It’s just so weird to try and do it and just give it a go. Taking that plot apart is like diffusing a second World War time bomb. It’s all over. It’s very complex, but it’s what’s occupying my waking hours.”

VERTIGO-FOTOR.jpg

THE BATMAN 2---Robert Pattinson was asked if the sequel will start filming soon, “I f—ing hope so [laughing]. I started out as young Batman, and I’m going to be f—ing old Batman by the sequel.”

One of the two cinematographers on the short film was Phillip Noyce, who later directed the Jack Ryan movies PATRIOT GAMES and CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER starring Harrison Ford.

One source said, “There is [a] strong mutual desire to make it happen.”
Pierce Brosnan commented on rumors he is returning as the older James Bond, “I’ve heard of that. Of course, how could I not be interested? But it’s a delicate situation now. I think it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie, really. I think so. It’s a rather romantic notion and idea, but I think everything changes, everything falls apart. I think that it’s best left to another man, really. Fresh blood.”

JAMES-BOND-FOTOR.jpg

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY---co-director Joe Russo said Robert Downey, Jr. is writing Dr. Doom's backstory, "...writing backstory [and sharing] costume ideas. We were just on the phone with him this morning before we got here talking about it…He just loves really rich, three-dimensional characters. I think he sees a real opportunity here with that character.”
Russo said Millie Bobby Brown, who starred in the Russo Brothers' THE ELECTRIC STATE, might return in other Russo projects, “Millie’s on the list for every project. You can’t honestly, you just can’t ask for a bigger star right now…Yeah, we’ll put her in anything.”

KAROSHI---Cynthia Erivo (WICKED) will co-star in the movie that is described as a “corporate thriller with a samurai twist.”

JAMES BOND---James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli commented on Amazon MGM Studios executives in a WALL STREET JOURNAL article, "These people are f*cking idiots." A source said Amazon founder Jeff Bezos "read her quote in the JOURNAL and got on the phone and said, ‘I don’t care what it costs, get rid of her.'"
John Cork, James Bond documentarian, commented on Amazon MGM Studios and 007, “People think they know James Bond because they know the iconography of the martini and the gun and the gadgets. But there is a very particular set of things that occur below the surface that have kept the character resonating for over 60 years. There’s a line from the novel GOLDFINGER about how high tension was Bond’s ‘natural way of life’ and that ‘pressure and danger relaxed him’. Amazon is going to need to get people in the room who understand that.”

WHALEFALL---Austin Abrams (WOLFS) will star in the survival movie based on the novel whose synopsis says, "Jay Gardiner has given himself a fool’s errand—to find the remains of his deceased father in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Monastery Beach. He knows it’s a long shot, but Jay feels it’s the only way for him to lift the weight of guilt he has carried since his dad’s death by suicide the previous year.
The dive begins well enough, but the sudden appearance of a giant squid puts Jay in very real jeopardy, made infinitely worse by the arrival of a sperm whale looking to feed. Suddenly, Jay is caught in the squid’s tentacles and drawn into the whale’s mouth where he is pulled into the first of its four stomachs. He quickly realizes he has only one hour before his oxygen tanks run out—one hour to defeat his demons and escape the belly of a whale."

THE RECRUIT---executive producer Alexi Hawley posted the possibility of a movie sequel after Netflix cancelled the CIA series, “Is two seasons and a movie a thing? Cause we’d all be there in a heartbeat.”

S.W.A.T.---CBS cancelled the series again.

TRIVIA---in WHO IS KILLING THE GREAT CHEFS OF EUROPE?, Robert Morley played Max Vandeveer, publisher of EPICURUS MAGAZINE, whose article features the world's four greatest meals and thir chefs, but then someone starts killing the four chefs one by one. Morley's portrayal of the culinary connoisseur led to him being awarded the Best Supporting Actor from both the National Society of Film Critics Awards (1979) and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards (1978). A QUIET PLACE 3---producer Brad Fuller commented on the sequel which focuses on Emily Blunt's character, “So, DAY ONE is not A QUIET PLACE 3, just to be clear . . . A QUIET PLACE 3, we’re starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn’t have a lot on his plate. He had just come off THE OFFICE, and he wanted to be a director. Now, he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him… He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [A QUIET PLACE 3]. We all want to finish that trilogy, and I’m hopeful there’s even more QUIET PLACE movies beyond that.”

I love tension, so it's a very stressful watch, and I love that."

TRIVIA---in the tv series MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS, Kurt Russell plays Colonel Lee Shaw, who battles the prehistoric Godzilla and other monsters. One scene has Godzilla attacking a school bus. HOUSE OF THE DRAGON---showrunner Ryan Condal commented on Season 3, "We start [filming] in a couple of weeks."
He added, “For Season 3, there’s much more shape and depth to it right out of the gate, because you’re writing for people you know. There are some major new characters this season, but 85% of them we already knew who they were and it just makes it much more rewarding to write.
Season 2 is huge. Season 3 is huger, in many ways. There are, by my quick count on stage, four major events from the book that we get to adapt and realize in three dimensions in this season. That’s really exciting on a scope-and-scale perspective, and I think it’s the thing the show does really well. The things that we’re building are mind-boggling."

AVATAR: FIRE AND ICE---James Cameron said his wife, actress Suzy Amis Cameron, watched an early version of the new sequel, an eventful watch: “My wife watched the whole thing from end to end – she had kept herself away from it and I wasn’t showing her bits and pieces as we went along. This was December 22nd.
She bawled for four hours. She kept trying to get her s*** back together so she could tell me specific reactions, and then she’d just tear up and start crying again. Finally, I’m like, ‘Honey, I’ve got to go to bed. Sorry, we’ll talk about it some other time’.”

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN---the DC tv series had 7.5 million views which made it Disney+'s biggest premiere of 2025. By comparison, in 2024, AGATHA ALL ALONG had 9.3 million views in its first week, and in 2023, LOKI Season 2's premiere had 10.9 million views in only its first three days.

Last time it was Steven Moffat [who replaced him], that wasn’t even a day’s work, like, 'Right, off you go!'
There’s thinking about that, there’s conversations about that, but it’s hard. It’s a tricky one. But they better exist… imagine, I’m dead at the desk. The cliche would kill me!"

TRIVIA---British actress Wanda Ventham is probably best known for playing Colonel Virginia Lake on the 1970s sci fi tv series UFO. Ventham was featured in PEOPLE magazine as one of its "Most Beautiful People in the World". Ventham and her husband, actor Timothy Carlton, are the parents of Benedict Cumberbatch. MICKEY 17---Puck reported the Robert Pattinson sci fi movie directed by Bong Joon-ho could lose $100 million, “...a knowledgeable source told me that Warners had come up with an alternative cut of Mickey 17 that tested 10 points higher. But the director had final cut and got his way. (Another source familiar with the situation insists the second cut did not test any higher than the first.) Based on the film’s $19 million domestic opening and B Cinemascore, a source estimates that the movie will fall $100 million short of breakeven at the box office. And industry insiders expect a rising tide of red ink as more of the studio’s risky movies open in theaters.”

MICKEY-17-FOTOR.jpg

JOHN WICK---Lionsgate Executive Vice President Jenefer Brown confirmed the new sequel is underway, but did not mention if Keanu Reeves is returning, "Up next, of course, is BALLERINA, which is our first spin-off movie and [we] can't wait for that to release to the world. Of course, we've announced we're working on a fifth JOHN WICK film. I think there are more spinoffs to come, a TV series, video game. We've shared that we're developing a fifth JOHN WICK. [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on bated breath waiting to find out."

HARRY POTTER---Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown, has started an OnlyFans account for hair fetish members because she is in debt, “I am launching an OnlyFans, it’s not a sexual one. It’s a fetish. Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual.”
She added, “One year. I’ll try for one year. My aim?... To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love...Were my years of Harry Potter conventions in fact research? [It feels] like I’m doing something naughty, something a little f*cked up. I like that. Ripping up the good little actress rule book.”

SNOW WHITE---VARIETY reported that the Disney remake's Hollywood red carpet premiere will be limited to a few photographers and Disney employees instead of the usual dozens of media outlets. The media reduction will ensure that star Rachel Zegler will have minimal interaction with the media due to her many previous controversial comments, including bashing the original 1937 animated movie.

BLACK WIDOW---Scarlett Johansson commented on if she might return as Black Widow in a future MCU project, “Natasha is dead. She is dead. She’s dead. Okay? They just don’t want to believe it. He’s not nice, which is very freeing as an actor because you just think to yourself, what is the most selfish, self-serving thing I can do in this moment? And that’s the answer. That’s what you do in that moment. I think if he has a superpower, it might be his overconfidence, in that he thinks he could take on Superman. He can’t!”

NFL---Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe will star in the untitled NBC comedy series in which a disgraced NFL star seeks to rehabilitate his image by hiring a famous filmmaker to move into his mansion to film a documentary about the player.

TRIVIA---Grace Lee Whitney is best known for playing Yeoman Janice RAND on STAR TREK. Whitney also was the first Chicken of the Sea tuna mermaid in 1952 when she appeared as the mermaid on THE EDGAR BERGEN AND CHARLIE McCARTHY SHOW on CBS Radio. Because I couldn't walk in that costume, stagehands had to pick me up and carry me onstage. I would sing the commercial, then they'd pick me up and carry me off again as I waved my wand to the audience."
Chicken of the Sea states, "....in 1952, our mermaid mascot made her debut. The original illustration, with her tall blonde beehive and button nose, was modeled after Grace Lee Whitney—the actress who played Yeoman Janice Rand on the original Star Trek series."

SPIDER-NOIR---Lukas Haas hinted the Amazon tv series starring Nicolas Cage might be released in color and in black and white, “It was just an incredible project. Everybody involved was amazing. Brendan Gleason, he plays my boss. Just getting to, to do that noir thing. It was very genuine film noir, the way they filmed it, like the long shadows.
We filmed it in — I think it may come out in both black and white and color, but when we filmed it, the monitors were all black and white, so you got this feeling and it looked very, very authentic. To the point that I would actually go and look at the monitor and think I was looking at some older footage, but it was actually just a monitor of what was on the camera at the time. They did a beautiful job with the filters and all that stuff, making it look like genuine old 1930s, black and white film. But obviously, just the writing, and Nic is incredible. It’s just a really fun project and I cannot wait to see how it turns out.”

JAMES BOND---Joe Russo commented on if he and brother Anthony would like the direct a James Bond movie, “We’re focused on the next two AVENGERS movies. But we love Bond. We love working with Amazon. TRIVIA---while casting for THE EXORCIST was underway, the role of Chris McNeil was offered to Audrey Hepburn, Anne Bancroft and Jane Fonda. In the documentary THE FEAR OF GOD: 25 YEARS OF THE EXORCIST, director William Friedkin said Fonda turned the role down with a telegram saying, “Why would I wanna be involved with a capitalist rip-off piece of sh-t like this?” Friedkin noted, “She was in her anti-Vietnam phase.”

But before NCIS, McCallum became a sex symbol on the 1960s spy spoof tv series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E., where he played Illya Kuryakin, the Russian sidekick for spy Napoleon Solo. At one point, McCallum was receiving 30,000 letters a month from female fans---more than Elvis Presley.
McCallum recalled, “It was wild and at times dangerous. On one occasion I was at a graduation ceremony in Louisiana and all hell broke loose. All these girls were chasing me and these security guys locked me in a toilet for my own safety. In the melee I had chunks of hair pulled out and my clothes were ripped to shreds.”
When Kuryakin had his first tv kiss, 2,000 female students at Wellesley College threatened to blow up the MGM tv studios. MGM's bosses had McCallum send a telegram to Wellesley explaining the kiss was really part of a plot by the evil THRUSH organization, U.N.C.L.E.'s nemesis.
He added, “In New York I went for a walk in Central Park once. It took two police on horseback to rescue me."
McCallum once quipped, “On my gravestone it will say, ‘Here lies David McCallum, also known as Illya Kuryakin, or vice versa’.”
In an episode of NCIS, Special Agent Caitlin Todd asked her boss, Jethro Gibbs, “What did Ducky look like when he was younger?” Gibbs replied, “Illya Kuryakin.”

STAR TREK: SECTION 31---co-star Rob Kazinsky commented on the Paramount+ tv movie that bombed because fans complained it was not really connected to STAR TREK, “When I got this job I was like… why are they doing a SECTION 31 movie? It’s going to going to be hated from the get-go, no one’s going to want to watch a SECTION 31 movie, and we’re doing a TV budget movie… this isn’t going to be what people want.
Then I spoke to Alex [Kurtzman, producer] and I spoke to Olatunde [Osunsanmi, director] and they explained to me that STAR TREK is dying. I don’t know if people know that. I was talking about STAR TREK at my gym. I’m a boxer and I train with a lot of kids and none of them knew what STAR TREK was.
Can you imagine that? I mean just conceive of that for a second. I would say STAR TREK and they were like 'STAR WARS?’ I’m like 'no STAR TREK' and they were like ‘um I think I’ve heard of it’. Now that was pretty upsetting for me.
STAR TREK’s fan base has never been enormous it’s always been small and Incredibly passionate group, it’s never compared to the HARRY POTTER fan groups or the STAR WARS fan groups it’s never had hundreds of millions of fans around the world. Its always been a dedicated group, and that dedicated group is aging and we are really we are going to lose STAR TREK if we don’t bring in new fans, new eyes and new ways of getting people to love the things that we love.”
He added, “Once I’d heard this I was 100% behind this movie. [It] was you have to make different flavors of STAR TREK for a different time you have to try and bring in new people as you that’s what STARFLEET ACADEMY is going to be about. That’s what SECTION 31’s about. I’m sorry to say it, it wasn’t made for people that love STAR TREK it was made to make people want to learn more about STAR TREK that was the idea – it was for it to bring in new eyes, new people and then introduce them to that world.”

WARNER BROS.---Warner Bros. Discovery is in talks to sell the cancelled COYOTE VS. ACME animated movie to Ketchup Entertainment (FERRARI, THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP: A LOONEY TUNES MOVIE). However, movie insider Jeff Sneider said Warner Bros. is not going to sell the cancelled BATGIRL movie, “My sources unfortunately don’t expect that superhero movie to ever see the light of day.”

MCU---Netflix head Ted Sarandos commented on Netflix and Marvel Studios over the past decade and fan complaints about tv shows that looked cheap, “On our shows, we were dealing with the old Marvel television regime, which operated independently at Disney. And they were thrifty. And every time we wanted to make the shows bigger or better, we had to bang on them. Our incentives were not well aligned. We wanted to make great television; they wanted to make money. I thought we could make money with great television.
You want to work with people whose incentives are aligned with yours. When people are producing for you, they’re trying to produce as cheaply as possible. My incentive is to make it as great as possible. That’s a lesson that I take forever. As producers, whatever [Marvel] didn’t spend, they kept. So every time we wanted to add something to the show to make it better, it was a fistfight.”

APPLE TV+---two sources claim Apple TV+ is losing over $5 billion per year since the streamer was launched in 2019.

POWER RANGERS---Disney+, Hasbro and the team that created PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS are in talks to develop a live-action tv series.

SCHOOL SPIRITS---Paramount+ renewed the series for Season 3.

TRIVIA---AIRPORT '77 was the second movie in the AIRPORT disaster movie franchise and was about a skyjacked Boeing 747 jumbo jet that crashes into the Bermuda Triangle where the survivors try to escape from the submerged airliner before they drown.
The sequel starred Jack Lemmon, Jimmy Stewart, Olivia de Havilland, Joseph Cotten, Christopher Lee, Darren McGavin and George Kennedy. Ironically, Academy Award-winner Olivia de Havilland's cousin is Sir Geoffrey de Havilland, the aviation designer and pioneer whose company, de Havilland Aircraft Company, produced the Comet, the world's first jet airliner.
Olivia de Havilland had other aviation-related connections: she had a relationship with her AIRPORT '77 co-star Jimmy Stewart, a highly-decorated bomber pilot in World War II. She also had a relationship with tycoon, aviator and filmmaker Howard Hughes, who set a world record of flying around the world in 91 hours.

He originally used shoe polish to blacken his hair, but when he achieved success, he could afford to buy real hair dyes that included "signature mix of hair dyes: Miss Clairol 51D and Black Velvet / Mink Brown by Paramount."
Priscilla Presley said when she first met Elvis, he wanted her to dye her hair to black to build up the resemblance between them, "He did want me to dye my hair black when I was young so we could look alike a little bit."

JAMES BOND---Puck's Matthew Belloni commented on rumors that Alfonse Cuaron is in talks to direct the next James Bond movie, “It’s an informed, speculative pick here…And it is not Chris Nolan. I think the fact that he’s tied up for the next year and a half on THE ODYSSEY, I just don’t think Amazon wants to wait that long. I think Jeff Bezos says, ‘Give me my Bond movie now,’ and they just cannot wait. The fact that they went directly to these producers suggests…But they want to move pretty fast on this. I think it’s going to be Alfonso Cuarón.”
Belloni thinks new co-producer David Heyman's relationship with Cuaron will be a big factor, “They go back to GRAVITY. They go back 21, 22 years to HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN. They’ve worked together a long time, they’re friendly. I have heard that there are some talks, that there is a take, and that they are serious. Now, it’s not like he’s negotiating or anything like that, but my prediction is that Alfonso Cuarón will direct the next James Bond.”
