Hi Guys,

Sometimes you come across the strangest items and think “I’ll buy that... It might be useful someday”.

A couple of years back I was on one of my annual trips to San Antonio to meet up with our friends at Kings X.

While there I always made a point of visiting one of my favourite stores... ‘HOBBY LOBBY’.

Both my late brother Gordon and myself loved to wander up and down the aisles at Hobby Lobby seeking out both the ‘useful’ and the ‘unusual’ among its amazing variety of decorative, gift and craft items.

One time I came across this little bust of Abraham Lincoln... It was on sale for only $11.95 and was originally painted black.

Anyway, I really liked the sculpting but knew I would repaint the colour at some point later.

And so... a couple of years later... I requested one of our ‘master-painters’ to repaint ‘Honest Abe’ in the same stone colour as our recently released ‘Roman Triumphal ArchSP117.

Then, we added one of our ‘European Walls & GatesSP114 and a section of ‘European Wall AdditionsSP119 to place our statue in.

Finally, we ‘populated’ the scene with a selection of past and present K&C Confederate Cavalry and Infantry figures.

After that we planted a little ‘Hudson & Allen’ greenery in the background and took this photo... Enjoy!

Best wishes,
Andy

Given the thread title had to glance at this one twice. Very clever and a wonderful crisp clear image too. Love the Calvary and impressed with the new gate and wall set and lighter colour with a touch of grass.
