Murat and the Wurttemberg Jaegers (1 Viewer)

Matt,

This is the second time that I'm making this request... Please print inserts with historical background and exclusive diorama photos with your figures!!!

I do think your research process is extremely interesting and the history stuff is very marketable...

Also please provide historical details of the uniform and colors about these figures. Unlike King man, I find it very difficult to search for relevant and 'English' information about these figures.

I know many collectors do collect K&C brochures amateurishly written by their 'creative director.' I am sure you guys at FL can do it in a much more intriguing fashion!

Yes, we realize this is something that we need to do and will do in time. Please remember, there are only a few of us here at First Legion and we don't have a full staff ala K&C. So, our "Creative Director" is also our sales manager, website developer, markting director, etc. etc. etc.

Plus, up until about early 2009, we won't have had enough product released to warrant doing print runs of paper colateral. We had considered putting something such as your suggestion in the Murat and the Wurttemberg Jaegers set, but as we broke the set up into individual figures to allow collectors to buy multiples of the Wurttemberg Jaegers without having to buy many Murats, we decided agasint it as the boxes are small.

I would once again ask for your patience in this regard. As I said in another post, we've only been operating for under a year now and as such, we just need a bit more time.

That being said, you should expect to see this type of information show up on our website for download not too far in the future in the form of historical backgrounds with diorama images in PDF format. We just need time to get all of the figures released so that we can create the interesting dioramas that we need!!! This will be rectified very soon and you'll start getting what you're after in 2009.

Regards,

Matt

Just a different point of view ... I collect the 1st Legion figures and would not want the present price of the figures and sets increased by the cost of printing and including inserts with each set. I much prefer the idea of putting the information on your website.:)

Steven,

I agree let’s try do everything possible to keep the individual figure’s cost down. Posting background information on the Website sounds like a good alternative. I do not feel that each figure needs to come with a historical background sheet, I know of no other toy soldier company that includes that as a part of their regular figures’ packing. However, I do feel that some at some point some printed advertising might be helpful in enlisting new collectors.

I agree as well. The website idea is a great one and the more folks know about the in depth FL research the better.

Just want to encourage the idea to keep the costs for individual figures down and get the historical infos up on the website.
Earlier this week I received my set of Murat ant the Wuerttemberg troops and I can tell you guys, it is a group of stunning miniatures, very, very well done.
I contacted George (Warrior) from Minutemen Soldiers and asked if he had a set left of the pre releases he had to offer at the Chicago Show and "Bingo", he had one for me.
The especially nice feature with Murat is that the cape comes separately and you decide wether to display him with or without.

Good for you and congratulations on your score; they are most impressive and the removable cape is a real bonus. The Russian front is not a priority for me but if it were I would be all over these.:D As it is, I will content myself with the French released and eagarly await the British Guards and the CAVALRY.;) I also look forward to this level of detail in the 95th Rifles, GO SHARPE!!!:D:cool:

Well, technically, that's what Del Prado does, but that's their particular gimmick. Same for Franklin Mint figures, and the figures sold through the American Military Historical Society back in the 70s or 80s.

But the point is valid, it's not necessary to have, and if it can keep the price attractive for collectors, a history card or sheet can be eliminated.

Prost!

I think Britains included some in the Zulu Osprey figures. All one has to do to find info on a figure is hop on the net and google it. Thats one of the things I enjoy is doing a little internet research.

No no no....
by any means do not raise the price at all!

Just do brochures that can be downloaded on the internet, paying particular attention not just to the history but how each individual figure was designed.

NAP0061-NAP0065 Murat and the Wurttemberg Jaegers sets are now in stock and shipping next business day.

I think all will agree that a Website type format for historical backgroud information is the best way to go as we too want to keep our prices as low as possible.

I received my order yesterday. Outstanding figures; the painting is far and away better than anything I have seen in a mass market release of model soldiers.

Anyone interest in Napoleonic history should order these. Try just one figure and you too will be hooked on First legion quality.

Just a quick question: Is there any chance there will be additional figures of the Wurttemberg Jaegers?

There will be more Wurttemberg figures for sure, but most likely not Jaegers. At least not anytime in the near future.

The Wurttemberg Jaegers are a work of art. I hope we get some other Allied Jaegers like that for Waterloo etc. and some Green Jacket Dragoons, mounted and unmounted while we are at it.

Thank you, Matt. I am looking forward to the Wurttemberg Line infantry.

Thanks, I think so too. The Westphalian Jaegers are equally as good I think and have been more popular so far, I'm not sure why exactly. I would have thought it the opposite!

As for Waterloo jaegers, as you know we have already shown some sculpts of our Brunswick Advanced Guard Jaegers, though I'm not sure when we'll produce them. They even include a running figure! :D

The Westphalian Jaegers appear as good to me as well. I think the greater variety of poses perhaps tips the popularity in their direction. Actually, if they were part of the Allied effort I would have to have these. Maybe I could display them as a maverick band of mercenary defectors; there seems to have been a fair amount of that.;):D For the Brunswickers, I must confess that I like the poses for the Brunswick infantry even more then for their Jaegers but both are interesting for sure. We need some Brits like that or like the Russians on the workbench.

I too am waiting for the regular Wurttemberg Line infantry. Not sure why, but I find these new figures very interesting. I think it's because I like their helmets. This is one of those units I plan to buy lots of multiples. Ultimately I hope to be able to show an entire attacking formation, three ranks deep.

Matt do you have a release date in mind?
