Is anyone using Museum Wax or Museum Gel to secure figures in place on tanks or other vehicles? I believe the manufacturer is Quakehold! (saw it on Amazon). I have a pesky tank rider that likes to topple off periodically (the one from the WS072 Summer Panther Set who is leaning on the turret), so would like to secure him in place without damaging the paint on either the tank or the figure. Never used this stuff, so don't know if it is worth it. Figure hasn't been damaged yet, but I don't want to take chances with it happening again. Currently just not displaying it, but really like that figure (and riders in general) so would like to give it another try. Leaning towards the clear gel.

Thanks, -Rich

I have used Museum wax for years on my old Britain's and other glossies with no problems./

Thanks for the follow-up. Does it come off easy when you need to move/store a figure? I saw what I think was museum wax on a vehicle holding a piece on at one point (a show model I had picked up), but it didn't come off too cleanly (little bits stuck in the detail). Might not have been the best use for it though, as anything squeezed into smaller detail would likely be a pain to get out. I'm thinking more flat surfaces for the applications I have in mind. Concerned mostly about paint discoloration.

Seems to be ok on K&C paint which feels the most stable of the manufacturers. Have had some problems with using it on Figarti models. Don't know how it would work on the CS halftrack with the jumping figures instead of the plastic hangers.

Use only sparingly and on flat surfaces. It doesn't take much to hold a figure that almost stays in place by itself. And you don't want it to fill in tiny details.
