This forum has been around for a while now.
Thanks to Shannon and Pete we have found a space on the net where collectors from all over the world can meet. Initially this forum focused on a certain very popular manufacturer and that interest quite rightly continues.
However I have noticed an interesting development here on the glossy section.
It would seem that the glossy section especially the Trophy section seems to be increasingly popular.
There always seem to be people viewing the Trophy section.
We have also increasingly attracted a number of Trophy collectors who have never really been very vocal on this forum.
We have seen them participating and showing pictures of their wonderful collections.
I feel that the "grandfather"of this is Joe (The LT) who has kept Trophy AZW in the forefront with his ongoing pictures dioramas that never cease to captivate.
Inadvertently we have probably contributed a bit to the current crazy prices on e bay by helping to maintain interest in Trophy. Although Len's wonderful sets probably sell themselves.
So to all those Trophy fans who have contributed to this part of the forum over the last two years a big thank you. To those Trophy collectors watching from the sidelines come on in the water is great.
A merry Christmas and a wonderful and blessed New Year to all of you.

I think glossies are making a comeback and I think that is partly due to the figures being made are more realistically being portrayed like the mattes, just painted in the glossy style. That good as there is room for all styles in our hobby which makes it much more interesting.

Mark, BINGO! I am not attracted to earlier Britains or Hocker's glossies in that style (although I respect their wonderful tradition) . But Imperial, Trophy or Britains Classic Collection...that's another story! I definitely chose the newer more realistic glossies). Also, to me a glossy figure somehow has a charm that a matte one will never have (and I also collect matte K&C and love those figures, especially for small dioramas and WWI onwards).

I can honestly say that this forum has re-ignited my passion for collecting soldiers, especially Trophy and Imperial. Thank you, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

Making this Forum a site devoted to all kinds of toy soldiers was an early goal for us and I'm glad that these efforts are now bearing fruit in the minds of collectors.

I am very thankful for the forum, it has expanded my knowledge of all the TS manufacturers and and the wide range of figures available.

Most of all I had made many new friends, some I have met, and hopefully, I will meet the rest someday.

As a new member, all of you have made me feel very welcome. Thank you. If you are ever in Dallas and need a Trophy fix, just take I30 east 80 miles to Sulphur Springs. Let me know and I will meet you at my office. I have about 7000 figures and more than half are Trophy in 16 cases just so you know it will be worthwhile. Tommy

I would say that goal is increasingly being met.
We have a wide range of expertise on the forum.
We have loads of WWII expertise, we have Trophy, Imperial, Delhi Durbar expertise.
We have some excellent diorama creators some excellent photographers.
So things look positive.
If the auction site takes off it could become a one stop shop for collectors of all types of toy soldiers.
You can meet fellow collectors, chat about toy soldiers and hopefully find that elusive set you have been after for years.
