I have a 1920's copy of "DVX" by M. Sarfatti purportedly inscribed by Mussolini. The inscription reads (as far as I can make out) "Benito Mussolini alle Signore Barton xbre '26. Roma." Just curious if anyone might know who the "Barton" might be. I assume that is an English or American name.

I wonder if he was the early partner in the law firm Martin Barton and Fargo :)

Hi Guys,

Without more information it will be difficult to determine who she was. 1926 was a very wild year for Mr Mussolini especially since he survived an assassination attempt. So its going to be difficult to figure out unless you know more about who owned the book before. Good luck.

I think that's a he. Signora would be a she, Signore would be a he. Max (zup66) can probably confirm.

Yes, but now if you ever go to Italy, you'll know what to say to somebody on the street:)
