Dear Friends

I have spent the last few days reflecting upon my involvement on this forum. This comes with a great misunderstanding & Self-reflection on how I became the "evil poster" on Treefrog and to how I have so alienated a few people as well.

By no means, am I the type of person who does not care what others think and I have a repuatation for being very friendly and outgoing here in Washington, DC. But, somehow my strong love of King and Country products and strong friendship and overprotecting nature with Andy Nielson's Work has caused me to be very short and sometimes even rude to some of you. This could have been done in a better more understanding way. And for that I WANT TO APOLOGISE and would like to apologise for few other faults.

First this forum served as a "stress release" place for me to do anything and say anything for the fun of it. Hence, the 30 or so Blue Napoleon postings (I am sure Brad could give us a confirmed specific number) - but, this was not fair to those of you who visit this site and seek enjoyment yourself. My postings should not cause you to be mad - I did it all in fun - but, some you you took it personally and were angry. To those who I have offended in that please accept this apology.

I have grown to appreciate Treefrog as a wonderful place that has a serious - yet fun side to our hobby. I also have grown to appreciate many of you as friends.

There are a few people: Pierre, Nmrocks, Maddadicus, Nicolas, Firebat, Oz Digger, Damain, and Pat Wade - That I want to single out - for I have not been fair or kind to you - and ask for you to accept my hand in friendship and let us try to start over again and be friends and enjoy our hobby together. If I have missed any one else - please know I make this offer to all.

I specifically would like to offer Fred - Boot51 - my apology for whatever wrong I did him and ask that he accept my hand in friendship as well. At no time did I ever want to intentially hurt him or his trust. Please someone convey this to Fred and ask him to contact me at Capitolron@aol.com - so we may talk.

Somehow over the last six months I feel I have been pushing people away instead of bring them together - I want to redirect and fix that.

I really dont know how I came to this point where I feel that so many apologies are needed - but, here we are. All I can do is to ask for all of you to forgive and forget and let us start anew. I say all of this from the bottom of my heart and hopefully you can appricate how difficult this posting has been for me.

Thank you all for your understanding and hopefully for your acceptance of this hand in friendship and I look forward to a new beginning with all of you here at Treefrog.

My Sincere Regards,

Ron

Ron-

You have shown me nothing but kindness and respect and for that I am very thankful. Having worked in and or near the DC area, I know that gets to be a very stressful area to work and it isn't just job responsibilities, it is the drive and dealing with the Beltway and those issues. All that can add a tremendous amount of stress unfortunately for those of you working in that area.

I have popped a couple "Anti-Napoleon" comments at you at various posts here on the frog and I think you and I have both known that was in good fun.

I certainly do not feel you have slighted me or did or said anything to alienate me at all here- in fact, I would like to go on the public record here in defense of you and say that when Ron found out my background in the army, he sent me all sorts of very VERY interesting material on new and upcoming German armor- even sent me a Rocco model of PzH 2000 (the EU 155) and it is sitting here at my desk as we speak. In fact, Ron didn't just send it to me, he fedex'ed it. To me, that was the act of a very selfless and kind person.

Ron, it takes a strong and wise man to offer an apology especially on an open forum like the internet. Your actions are very selfless and commendable. I don't feel like the apology was made to me, as we are really cool, but everyone on this forum should respect the humility in which you have displayed here.

This hobby is hurting for enthusiasts- we need all of us united to keep it going.

Take care and stay strong!!

CC

WOW......My comments posted saluting The New Brigadier along with my threat to post Zulus where not meant to be offensive or to seek an apology for what sins you may or may not have commited. It's not very often that I spend time reviewing the King and Country section of the forum. I make it a point to stay away when it comes to comparing products. Like Religon and Politics it becomes a no win situation. I do admire that fact that for what ever reason you took it upon yourself to post your last thread and couldn't let it go by without a reply....The Lt.

I don't think this thread has any connection to your post, Joe. I think Ron is just trying to diffuse some of the tension that sometimes springs up on this forum, especially, as you pointed out, when there are comparisons made or critiques of various companies (especially K&C) products. I think all of us make the mistake of occasionally posting inflammatory comments (or interpreting the posts of others as inflammatory) and it is nice of Ron to appologize in an attempt to smooth things over and get the forum back to the friendly discussion we all enjoy.

So thanks Ron for being a stand up guy, and taking the hit for us all. And, to the extent my posts caused any one to feel uncomfortable or upset, I too appologize, as I have never meant to offend anyone of my fellow treefroggers, all of whom I consider friends.

Ron, you have just made a very heartfelt and honest apology and i am sure anyone on here who may have been upset by your comments is big enough to accept it in the manner you have given it.I too have been guilty in the past in being a little too enthusiastic in my appreciation of K&C and also the pride i have in my country's history. But i know this is a wonderful forum and people do forgive and forget.I think you can do no more than you have just done and i hope you recieve the forgiveness you ask for.I also hope anyone who has left this forum will consider coming back again, there are so many good people on this forum and theres always room for more.:)

c'mon Guys we are all toy soldier lovers at heart, sure some comments made to each other can be offensive that is why i abstain from getting involved in them all... But i'm sure we can all accept each others offers of friendship and i'm sure they are all sincere.. So with that in mind can we all join together for one big group hug and continue with the whole point of this forum and that is to MARVEL at everything old and new that is thrown our way by the big cheese that is ANDY:D

regards everyone and i shall continue to view from a distance

What else needs to be said but.............

Perhaps the message here is that there are times when the less said is the better choice between what one thinks and what one says.An attitude of over "self congratulations" is unbecoming in any environment.
That being said, let's return to the "hobby" part of toy soldiers. The forum was much more interesting when we focused on the toy soldiers and less on ourselves.

Ron, We have always been very good natured too. I do not take very much serious here with the exception of free speech and moral crusaders. We need more of the former and less of the later. But I digress, we all are supposed to have fun. K&C makes a great product and is easy to get passionate about. So let us have fun!

Mate you must think people are thin skined.I sometimes try on purpose to set things on fire to get different responses .That is the fun of finding out the truth about people .The comments I like the most are up front and sometimes in your face.Thats how you get to the true feelings of the topic.Toy soldiers are fun and all of what I have read from you and others has been common day to day replies. The things that are said about me at work would make your hair colour change when they all no I collect toy soldiers.Mate don't book a room in hell just yet as I don't think your a bad person.Just grow a thicker skin and keep on posting how you feel.Regards Chris.
