Super Bowl Sunday, I started this playset.
Marx Daktari Figures, a ringhand MPC who looked a lot like the captain, and a nekkid Marx Julie Adams (ooh!) . I also converted some MPC 50mm Indians to look just like the native helpers/victims. (the 60mm ringhand Indian figure pictured was just too big)
When my Weston Mexican Pheasant figures arrive, one of them is PERFECT for the native who is attacked in the tent in the beginning. (The one with machete). And when my marx command tent arrives.....woo hoo!
I also have divers, and several different Creatures.
I made the "Rita" ship from foamboard, with card stock strips for planking. Not finished, but its a start! Keep in mind, this is a PLAY SET, so the boat is NOT museum/Diorama/War Gaming quality. Its for play. And, I built the entire thing laying down on my couch, drinking beer and watching the Super Bowl. (Yes, I even cut parts laying on my back, with a cutting board against my knees). Was so much fun! My GF went crazy, as I used my belly as a paint holder, and brush cleaner.
Just finished the details on the boat, and am working on the base, which has a marx cave, lots of trees, and water of course, and thinking about making it a raised base, with underwater base underneath for 3D fun.
I sent pics to Julie Adams! (and promised I would paint a white one piece bathing suit on her figure, but I lie)
