For anyone interested:

A few pics of the four mounted Ironside Harqubusier figures I bought at the London Toy Soldier Show last month. Very nice to have Matte mounted "in action" ECW Cavalry figures on the market at last.

Very pleased with them - I'm ordering another CW 1451 today. ( I plan to re-animate it to create another slightly different pose......)

Cheers,
Roy

I'm a matte soldier collecter of several years, mainly ACW amd American Revolution. I have for many years wished for some matte, detailed figures to cover the English Civil War period 2642-51.

I have just purchased the Oliver Cromwell mounted figures from Empire Military Figures, via Magpie (a British figure supplier).

I have to say that it's great to see another producer of ECW matte figures, of such a high standard. The figure looks realistic, is very well sculptured/painted, but the big thing for me is that these Ironsides and no doubt the accompanying foot musketeers (yet to be purchased), compliment my current King & Country Pike and Musket range in both size and character. They are reasonably priced at £75 each.

I hope that the Empire Military Minatures range expands rapidly, as these figures will look great on a well thought out diorama.

I am now a hapoy ECW collector.

That puts the pressure on me saying they compliment the size. I guess it would be great if this is still the case when a mounted figure is available to compare. Will be very interested in knowing than, as these are indeed fine looking. Robin.

Thank you so much for these kind comments. I am so pleased you are happy with both the figures and our retailer Magpie.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions / comments.

Best regards,

Malcolm :salute::

Hi Robin,

Thanks for the compliment, it really is great to hear and see people enjoying what we are producing.

Not sure if this will help in any way but, when I purchased my first batch of K&C ECW figures, I photographed them alongside my initial ECW offerings to try and help someone else who was asking the question of compatability, and also to satisfy my own curiosity of course.

The photo's are below for you to view. The K&C foot figures are slightly larger and bulkier than mine but, when placed in a diorama, or just a few inches apart in a cabinet, they look and work great together. Leave you to ponder. I just hope I have not further complicated the question now :)

Best regards,

Malcolm. :salute::

Kind of you to respond Malcolm, I am a great one for mix and matching and these mounted figures look excellent. I could jump in at some time and snap them up, just waiting to see some mounted in K&C. Good to see you so relaxed about this whole aspect.:salute::, Robin.

Hi Robin,

Always aim to respond, it was part of my values when establishing Empire, to talk to and engage with fellow collectors and customers / interested parties.

Just as an insight for you, I spoke with Andy Neilson at the LTSS in December and he did tell me he had no plans to release any cavalry like those we were producing. I also shared with Andy my ethos behind the brand and that was to compliment and not to compete as there is little point and no win - win. He agreed and, true to my word, I mailed him my line list for 2015 to ensure we did not and do not clash but simply support each others good work.

Also, the cavalry figures have been our best selling line since launching in December of last year and we are fast approaching the half way mark on remaining stock, so don't leave it too long. If you are thinking of jumping in and want some on lay away, just drop me an e-mail and if I can help, I will. I would rather do that than you miss out. malcolm@empiremm.co.uk

All the best,

Malcolm. :salute::
