I have not been very active on the forum lately, or very responsive to messages as I have been dealing with my Dad's declining health. He passed on Wednesday and I thought I would post this short note.
My Dad was a WWII Vet who received the Bronze Star for his actions in France and Germany. He lived a **ll life nearly reaching 90 years.
I will probably not be back for awhile as I have many issues to deal with. I wish my fellow forum members with elder parents all the best as it can be a very difficult time.

John...my condolences...I similarly lost my father a few years age...it was a strain on my personality, mood and health...I know this sounds trivial now...but time helps heal...hang in there...

Very sorry to hear this, John. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts. Take care. -- Al

John,

My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family on your loss. I can empathize with you as I felt and still feel a terrible void without my father.

At this difficult time for you, it may be of small consolation that I appreciate that you know how difficult it can be to provide care to elder parents.

It takes a toll on one's career, health, mood and hobby. Please come back to the forum when you feel more settled.

Take care and keep well, Raymond.

May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father John, anyone who served in WWII is part of the greatest generation hands down, they never like to admit it, that's the kind of fathers/grand fathers we have, the world owes them all gratitude for the things they fought for and went through...Sammy

NJJA:

My sincere condolences in the passing away of your Dad. I have a special place in my heart for vets like your Dad. A special medal awaits him as he transitions from mortal to immortal. Gone in the body but now present in the Lord.
