hi

just ordered a few sets of these and the cavalry and artillery sets off Steve Weston who has stocks.

will post some photos on here when painted up - I want to paint some of the infantry depicted as the brave men of the 54th Massachucetts attacking Fort Wagner July 1863. Glory was one of the best ACW films made.

The photos of the 54th show them wearing frock coats like the figures. I wonder if they were in fatigue blouses at Wagner as in period illustrations?

these new figures should match with the A Call to Arms 54th

I am painting 40mm figures as the 54th and also some 76PA Zouaves that were in the same assault.

Scott,

do these look ok to convert to British Guards/Line inf Crimean War 1854-56?

The head swap would be easy but coat may need lengthening to look like greatcoat?

Too much work for me! The British tailcoat means taking away material and the greatcoat means adding. May French, Turks, or Sardinians? Some wore frock coats.

hi

just received my order today from Steve Weston ,

these are super amazing great accurate figures in traditional proper 1/32nd scale with loads of conversion potential.

the mounted figures fit easily and very snug onto the horse with no messing about.

First 8 figures painted. I skipped the blue piping on the collars and cuffs. No Corps badges so that I can use them for 1861-62.

nice paint job - hope that they release more poses.

I have 10 x Confederate cavalry nearly finished painting so will post when done. They have yellow kepis to match the Britains Deetail reb cavalry which are iconic figures for me personally - fond memories of Christmas day 1973!

Great painting Scott! You should have done a few head swopps though to give the column a bit more life. They do need to add some more poses to these sets, but they do look nice.

Now those are some excellent TOY soldiers. Top notch painting, very nice. I really like painted plastics, especially at Christmas time. Must be a nostalgia thing.

I'm looking forward to seeing the photos. One could take the extra hat heads from the infantry and put them on the cavalry. Exacto-knife, drill and Zap-A-Gap.
