They have arrive this week. Got them from our forum friend Marcus, http://www.hadriansvilla.de/index.html, super fast friendly service, very well packed, credit where credit is due. A great resource for those of us in Europe.
The figures: I have to say that I love them, detail, sculpt, painting, perfect a style that I very much enjoy, drinking from the connoisseur well. In fact I'll post comparison photos and coment on them.
So, a collection in the making, hopefully.
Let's just get to pictures, and I am sorry I have no photo skills, guess this is the best I can do :D:eek:(sorry Matt:D:eek:).

Now some comparison photos with 2 connoissseur pieces I have: one from Kolobob (the Roman sold. with sword-7 out of 10 painting quality) and the other one from Aeroart. To me it's hard to notice any considerable difference, FL faces tend to be a little darker/colorful and that's about it. I believe this speaks volumes about the quality of FL's figures.

Hello Viriato :)
Thank you for your post and my turn is I who thank you for those first pictures of your FL NAP.Maintenant that you see in "real" and after your comparison with your other figures from different manufacturers: "addict" yes or FL not ???????;)
Thank you for sharing.

Paulo, I am very pleased you like these so much, as I knew you would.;):D

I am afraid I do not agree they look good with one of the compared figures; but they do look great with most.;)

Yes. And at least also Bill's opinion, as he said it first.

Hi Steve ,
First let me say its great to have you posting again :) I'm not sure what is being said as i don't know any French except bad words I learned as a kid  . I think to anyone who is without an agenda here can see the difference between First Legion and K & C . I can only speak for myself when I say IMO First Legion are light years ahead of anything K & C have done in the Napoleonic range in every way possible except for maybe sheer numbers . Since switching to FL I feel my collection has made a serious upgrade and I would like to see anyone post side by side pictures that can show something different . Its really a matter of taste , the world is full of people who disagree as to what looks best........ abstract vs realism the debate will continue . There are several members whom have taken it upon themselves for whatever reason to attack anything that says K & C are not the GOLD standard.... they will report your postings , attack you personally whatever it takes . Just be prepared my friend ;) All the best Gebhard

Paulo-
Glad to see you are very happy with your intial First Legion purchase. Since you have them in hand, you can see for yourself the quality so many of us have already experienced. Enjoy expanding the collection!

I for one think this constant attacking of one or other producer a waste of time,we all have our favourites and no insult from another side is going to change that.I also think there is not one single producer that has not made some sort of historical error or other,it happens to all at some point.Doesn't mean they should stop producing!

Many thanks Noah. I wish you do the same with your FL collection, or any other brands you like.

Best regards,

Thanks Bill, indeed I very much agree with your opinion on the comparison;), it's peaches and apples really with one of the comparisons, you and I prefer peaches others prefer apples, that's the salt of life, I hate totalitarianism (do you really spell it like this in English?:p)...
Oh and by the way, our forum friend that sent these sinful temptations to me goes by Hadrian here at the forum... Paying in Euros and with such service I hope to stick with him for a long time...;)

Gebhard, read my last post if you'd like, it's also my reply to yours:D.

Cheers,
Paulo

I would just like to say that my favorite figure (although I love them all) is the loading Chasseur, just take a look at that ramrod (either on my poor photos or live) and you'll see what I mean!

Paulo

I like that particular figure in the British Guards release. That and the figures that are reaching for a cartridge I also like. Now we just need one tearing a cartridge then we will have most all of the evolutions in loading and firing.
