German Mechanic and Oil Cart

Adding to the growing collection of JJD planes will be a small series of aircraft from other periods. The first of which will be the ME109E-3 of Josef “Pips” Priller.
Josef “Pips” Priller had a rather long career in the Luftwaffe and became one of the top aces of the Second World War. This Bf109E is from early in his career and is marked from the time of his receiving the Ritterkreuz for twenty victories

The uniform is WW1. That type of service cap was not used in WW2, but yes the cart can be used for WW2, especially early in the war. The uniform would also be blue to blue green as the Luftwaffe went to this color in late 1930s.

The ground crewman with the oil can is definetly WW1. The pork-pie hat is the give-a-way. It is WW1 issue head wear. Looks good. I also really like the Priller 109. Very nice looking details and camo job. -- Al
