Here are some shots of my first repainted K&C vehicle. I associate the M10 as much with Normandy as Battle of the Bulge, so I wanted one in "summer" colors.

The first photo is the tank destroyer stripped and taken apart

Re: Ny first K&C repaint...

The next couple photos show the progress so far; the TD is repainted, some stowage was rearranged or modified (I didn't want my M10 to look just like the winter one!). I still need a bit of dust and mud (I don't go for heavy weathering on a vehicle this expensive). After OTSN I will post some final shots with figures, etc.

Looks great so far Gary!

Where did you get the decals?

Like the "Crap Game" name on the side :)

Thank you. Most of the markings are from Archer Fine Transfers. They are intended for 1/35th models of various types. I just hauled out my sheets and sized the stars by "guesstimate". The name is on their "Vehicle Nicknames" sheet. You can't see the darker markings in the photos - the registration numbers (the "USA number") is in blue drab per early war US practice and there is a dark star on the front, representing a painted out white star. Both of those are from a very nice, but out of production sheet of US Armor decals from an outfit in San Diego. As a modeler I never throw away unused decals unless they are total crud. There is another small piece of decal on the 5 gallon can strapped to the rear saying "diesel fuel" in small letters, that came from HO model RR data. The M10s were diesel-powered as opposed to other Army vehicles. I wasn't sure how the Army marked diesel containers in 1944, but I figured that somebody would have labelled the can.

I also have the M10 in the winter version. One of my favorite pieces. You did a great job and I look forward to the final detailing.

Cool. I have a question for you!

I have an old KC Tiger II, and the track links mounted on the side of the turret hang at an angle. I would like to straighten them out, but I'm reluctant to interfere with them because I don't know how they're mounted. Are these pieces simply mounted by a single metal post? If I can pull them off and set them properly, I'll like my KT even more.

Thanks
