Hi guy's just back from Sydney and I have finally seen First Legion soldiers up close. I picked some up, smelled and felt them turned them up side down and around and compared them to other brands. What can I say but WOW!. They look far better in person then on the web site. I new they would look good but I was gob smacked. I was lucky enough to visit Peter Nathan's toy soldier shop in the heart of Sydney and what a shop that is. His displays are just stunning and I would encourage a visit to his web page for a good look at his shop and collection. Thanks to Peter on the great warm welcome he gave me and his great way he showed me around his shop. Did I mention that I walked out of his shop with Three First Legion WW2 figures.

Well let's get down and dirty with a review. The size of these soldiers were spot on to what I was expecting .
The sculpting was First class.
The painting was far better then what I thought they would be.
Over all First Legion is First class.
A mark out of 10.
10/10.

Will I buy any more First Legion . A big yes . I was a little bit sad that I didn't see any tanks by First Legion but I am very glad I had the chance to see the great figures in person. A great job First Legion . I will post some pictures tomorrow as I am having a beer and relaxing . Simmo.

Simmo,

Great news & a great review… glad you are happy with them. I personally have some Naps and ACW figures, and I am also very pleased with them. I guess at the end of the day that what it’s all about … being happy. I bet you picked up some Germans first? Look forward to your pictures.

Sounds like a great white shark (very Australian... ) checking out a new kind of prey...
Thanks for the review, from what I've seen I'd absolutely agree with you...

Cheers,
Paulo

Glad you like 'em Simmo. I'm hoping to pick a few Union ACW in the next couple of days.

Here are some pictures of my first Three buy's. Sorry about the photo's but the camera's playing up. Simmo.

Great choices. Those are amongst my favorite German figures.

Welcome to another very addictive range of this hobby. I think it is certainly worth the effort. And I have no doubts you will like the tanks as well once you get a chance to review one.

Francisco

Congratulations Francisco on your FL figures. I have the Union cavalry First Sgt figure and am very pleased with it. I saw the FL Romans over the weekend at the Chiccago OTSN show and was very impressed with the Romans. I agree with you about the Tribune . . . very nicely done . . .
:) Mike

Congratulations on your first FL acquisitions Mark. I saw some of the FL Crusader offerings at the Chicago OTSN show . . WOW! are they ever nice looking. What's nice about this range (or should I say what isn't nice about this range?) is that FL is also making very nice looking towers and walls to go with this colorful range. The Mamluks on the scalling ladder is cool ^&cool looking and will go nicely with the tower and wall pieces . . . welcome to the world of FL . . . keep us posted on your thoughts when you get your figures . . . .

Simmo, glad to hear you took a liking to the WWII guys, (nice dio as well) hope to see what you come up with next...Sammy

Well, this year has seen my first FL purchases. I finally got a chance to see the Romans this weekend and they look fantastic. Didn't realize till I got home but they even have painted toenails showing through their sandals. I got the Aquilifer and the Hornicen. Will hopefully find an Optio this weekend at Hack.

Torn on the legionaires, simply becasue I am doing a really really large battle and am facing some cost restrictions. Still, can certainly see myself adding some legionaires to the ranks.

My first piece was Terrain 006- the big farmhouse- great set!!

Hi Chris i am glad you got some FL Romans --at their price point they are amazing figures--mix well with cheaper and more expensive Romans--so you can mix them in different scenes at least i do. Hail, Mike B.^&grin:D^&grin
