G'day guys, Well I thought I'd display some of my gloss 54 mm work. I mix and match the makers figures and try to put up a scenario, and sometimes with a caption. For instance the Napoleonic artillery firing has a caption of " Pardon mon Capitaine ". The French drummer and infantryman from Lyonnis regt 1704 has tha caption of " You bloody little thief ". They do get rather heavy when put this way. Hope these please someone. Cheers, Johno.P1012452.JPGP1012447.JPGP1012451.JPGP1012458.JPGP1012449.JPG

Johno,

well done for sharing this work with us.

Its not often that we see dioramas in a gloss finish, but these sure look good.

I love the duo of the 1704 Lyonnis Regiment, who makes that or is it a conversion you have done yourself.

regards,

John

G'day John, I did this conversion from 2 figures I had been given a while ago. They might have been Prince August. The uniforms were a later era, and they didn't have hats,drum,musket,sticks or pipe, which I made, as well as the dog. Johno.

Hi Johno,

Your thread title caught my attention right away.

It is a pleasure to see glossy 54mm figures which are my first love as far as toy soldiers are concerned.

Thanks very much for sharing your hard and creative work with us.

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Niclely done Johno. Particularly like the ACW one.

Cheers,

Excellent Johno, I am a BIG fan of 54mm glossy figures

Cheers

Martyn:)

Very nice too! ^&cool Who makes the artillery team?

Jeff
G'day Jeff, Thanks mate. As for the Artillery team question. Well the firing artillery crew are a composition of Prince August bodies with Andrea heads. The Artillery team with horses are from a company called " Castings A Div. of REB TOYS, INC. Both guns are from this company. I got these castings from an old friend some years back. He has since passed away. The Lyonnis drummer and his mate are Prince August customised as well. Thanks for the comments mate. Cheers, Johno.{sm4}

Very nice Johno!!! Glossies are the best :) All of your dios are very nice indeed bit U like the one with the Confederate, horse and cat. I assume you made these also?

Very nicely done!^&cool^&cool One question: who figured out the exact amount of powder to have the canon balls roll right up to all those vignettes but stop just in time not to hit anything?^&grin

Nice work on your figures. Interesting sets and painting is excellent. John

Johnno - I just love 'em - a man after my own heart - mix and match bits and bobs - and just go for it! THAT's what this hobby is all about - have a go at something different. How about those cannonballs! - I would also cheerfully adopt that dog!

In a word - smashing! Well done mate (is that the correct word?). I would say "bach" - but there you go!

Great stuff - thanks for sharing - see you again, I'm sure. johnnybach

Beautiful glossies. The ACW and the last stand of the Old Guard are great. -- Al

Wow! I love the non-combat scenes especially. Did you paint them? They are truly original and very, VERY nice! {bravo}}{bravo}}

:eek: G'day guys, Your comments just blow me away. Greatly appreciated, thanks. In answer to some questions. I paint all these, and generally they are all customised from castings. To me this is what modelling is all about. I don't know about you guys, but when I'm doing this, I just find myself in another place. Chill time and the hours go by. Usually get my bum kicked though, for not getting the work done around home. "Sound familiar????". My favourites are the ACW trooper and the dog with sword. Thanks again fellas. Cheers, Johno.{sm4}

Hi, John, well done, you're a man after my own heart! I love your pieces, too, well done on your conversions and on your style. Very imaginative vignettes! So you cast your own, too? Always good to add another painter/caster to our ranks ;)

Prost!

G'day Brad, Thanks for the positive comments mate. No I don't cast my own but buy them and do some converting. Cheers, Johno.
