I just started collecting the SOE range of figures after seeing them on display in the K&C Pacific place store. I really love the eye-catching red figures in the set and can't wait for the guys at K&C to quickly expand more in this range. I'm not sure if the dioramas are appropriate for this range. Any input would be appreciated. Happy collecting!

Hi Jeff,

I also collect this range but the matt versions - your display looks geat to me! :salute::

What we really need is a mountain gun and crew sometime in the future.

Hi Jeff,
Wonderful collection and nice display. What are your thoughts on the Kitchener figure? I noticed it in your photographs.
Best wishes
Benjamin

I like the kitchener figure, if only it comes in gloss. I agree that a mountain gun crew would be an awesome addition. The only complaint I have for this series is some of the mounted figures are not made in gloss and I would love to see gloss mounted figures made to ensure uniformity across the range. Btw I noticed that this is a forum for matte KC figures. Sorry for posting in the wrong section. Mods if you find it inappropriate, feel free to move this thread to the glossy sections.

Hi jeffs,
I like your SOE collection very much.
As of the mounted figures, the Skinner's Horse, that are only available in a matte finish, please see the attached pics of some of mine.
I used a gloss varnish to get the desired finish.
Maybe that could be an option for you too.
Konrad

Konrad, these look really fine. They look so good that matte SOE should be declared obsolete and/or illegal. :rolleyes2::wink2: -- Al

In that case I guess I better hide mine before they are confiscated by the glossy police, cheers, Robin.

Konrad, you did an amazing job transforming those figures from matt to gloss. Unfortunately, I am a lousy artist and my hands are not nimble enough, I dare not modify them myself.

I know many collectors here have preferences for gloss or matte. Personally, I like them both. The reason I collect this range in gloss is because I have no easy access to W Britains Delhi Durbar series in Singapore and this range has some resemblance to that. I still don't understand why KC doesn't make gloss versions for all the horseback riders but oh well, who am I to complain. There are just too many positives in this hobby to complain about a small matter.
