My King and Country Pieces in Picture (1 Viewer)

Just wondering as here is another example . I guess the look was done to replicate a Dirty White look.

You can see how the lining would show as the wind catches the flaps of the greatcoat, the piping on the figures is more an exaggeration of that I'd guess.

The Hitler Deep in Though which I'll post sometime has a beautiful all black paint job with no over the top highlighting.

They are still among my favourites however, piping or not {sm4}

Just looked again at the K&C stock photos with Black Coats. There they appear more white. Possibly just the way that the photo came out ?

I think your lighting is fine - for focus, play around with aperture. It will bring more of the pieces into focus, but more than likely you'll need more light to get them looking sharp

Post-processing play a part too {sm4}

Yes, adequate lighting is very important for a good image.

Some of your images are very sharp and focused.....

Just need some post-processing - here's another example

Thanks DM for the comments. I'll be posting a few more tonight and will have a play around with some simple filters.

Thought I'd try a 're-take' using some simple filters. Will add some new figures over the weekend.

Get to put my new Zero up here on Tuesday hopefully;

#DM101, what did you use to re-touch the pictures? I've somewhat failed again with the dark background.

In Photoshop Camera Raw I opened your jpg image and adjust:

- Color Balance (all your images are a bit Magenta tint)
- Exposure
- Blacks
- Brightness
- Contrast

Then do a UnSharpen Mask and Levels in Phtoshop and that's it...

Vicknor, your pictures are amazing. Great close-ups of all the wonderful detailing of K&C.

Have you tried taking any of your shots with a background and some ground cover?

For instance:

I'd love to, but am somewhat intimidated by the quality that posters such as yourself knock out. The summer is a bit mad for me and so once the Autumn comes, I'll happily steal some of your great ideas in the way I totally plagiarised DM101's work.

It takes so long to get things out of crates and the like, I might just have to enjoy others' for now.

The autumnal colours in your shots are great

Thank you - but there's no magic. I'm impressed with the larger dioramas that some of the other collectors share. Mine are only small scenes with one-two vehicles at most. Your camera takes some really nice shots. I bet they'd come out really nice with a background or two.
