Hi,
While on leave, I continued work on this new diorama, of a small aging medieval tower and walls on a cliff on the Spanish coast. So far, the foam is cut, the frame is 85-90% done, and the basic ground (but not the water and cliff) is on.
Here are the pictures:

Very nice Sandor, you are quite the craftsman. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Many thanks to Nicholas Cameron, Mike Miller, and Pat Delheury for all the tips. I will be using the first mold on this list for the stones:

and building the castle in the correct fashion as per photos I have taken on my travels. The walls will consist of two parallel walls, the middle filled with debris, and a rampart made of balsa and Popsicle sticks (no imitation here- each board is represented by one actual board). I plan to make a breach in the wall with a bb gun or scale catapult to imitate what an actual breach would look like. Any advice?

Sandor...that's some pretty nice work cutting out the cliffs...that thing looks big...how big is it...do you have a picture of the castle you're trying to replicate...NICE WORK...love your terrain...

It must be at least 2"/3", but maybe 2.5"/3.75". I am in the middle of reorganizing ALL my photos of EVERYTHING, so I don't have them right now, but it is actually around 4 German castles and ruins. But basically a square tower, a gate, a medieval wall, a medieval living quarters, and possibly a 1700s coastal battery.

Sandor:

This is looking great! You are a very fast learner (be sure to tell your teachers that!). I am really looking forward to seeing the finished product. Keep up the great work...we'll compare notes when you are done.

All the best,

Looks very nice so far Sandor . . . . will look forward to seeing the finihsed project . . .
:) Mike

Update: It now has groundwork, rock cliffs, the first coat of water, and 2-3 layers of walls on the top, forming the beggining of a castle. I am currently making molds for the loopholes, so the walls are on hold, and I will be adding water, more terrain around the cliffs and walls that was lost, and paint in the frame for the whole thing. Pictures coming soon!

P.S. Diorama making is not the same as PT at school- I gained 9lb int 2 weeks at home- making up for lost time- wish me luck training the new plebes at school, as I will be in charge of a bunch of 'em. I wonder how many days it will take to me loose that 9, PTing at 6 and 3:15 on weekdays, all day on weekends, and living on cerial and fruit?{sm4}^&grin{sm0}
