OK Guys...Showing off again i know, but i just could"nt resist in posting these wonderfull figures from JJD. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to buy all these figures in one purchase from a fellow Frogger...(thanks chiefs70..great transaction) To say these figures are good is an understatement..!!!They are AWESOME>>>!!!! The poses are full of action and excitement, and the painting is in my opinion the best i have ever seen on any Toy soldier figure from any company anywhere!!....I have a box full of sequoia trees from Dept 56.and i look forward to one day putting them together in a diorama of Trout creek.

Very, very nice. Great aquisition. They are wonderful and very colorful figures. -- Al

Hi Steve, you have been spoiling yourself haven’t you, first the Jacobite range and now these nice figures! {bravo}} We’ll have you collecting the Sudan before long. :smile2:

Jeff

Steve you are right,
the detail of clothing and equipment of these figures is superb, the care is equivalent to that devoted to the Jacobites IMO,
cheers

Yes Jeff..I have indeed been almost unashamedly spoiling myself...ALMOST>>!!...But it was a case of > If i don"t do it now they will all be gone<!!...Now it"s a really funny thing that you should mention the Sudan...!!!!!!!!.

Steve

Thanks Al, Carlo....I would have difficulty in deciding which of the two series...Snowshoes/Jacobites are the best. Lets just say I love them both!!!!!.

Steve

it is cold at nieuwengein steve , like your new collection .

Wonderful collection ... they are some of the nicest sets around. But can't we say that about all of JJD's stuff?
I am into the War 1812 Series; Raid on St. Francis series and then some BAL sets / VM sets / WIM sets and such, as I find them.

Looks like you are really having fun ... GOOD!!!!!

I guess as you say whatever you collect from JJD it"s all great stuff..!!!. And yes i"m having fun!! ..Cannot remember when i was so exited about collecting a new..(to me)..Series.Maker.

Long admired this colourful range Steve, but have resisted for the age old problem, money & storage. Nice to see the series thru your eyes though and looking forward to your further diorama's. Cheers, Robin.

Thanks for your post Robin...I know the problem friend..!!!. I recently had a shuffle round with some very early retired KC.and from these sales
I funded my foray into the world of JJD...I don"t often sell stuff but sometimes one has to make hard decisions..I must say i am very happy with my decision. JJD is just AWESOME!!!!!. As for space i ran out of that quite a while ago...Stop collecting, NO WAY..NEVER!!. alternative
choice STUFF IN BOXES!!!. Not ideal, but at least i have the models...with the knowledge that sometime soon i will have the use of more space in my house>>>!!!.

Brilliant purchase you made there-I've got his woodland Indians but I missed the snowshoes series much to my chagrin

Now if only someone would knock out some winterised Yanks and Rebels :rolleyes2: It's been too long a wait....what say you?

Bob

hey Steve...
your Snow Shoes really look cool...
you're a bonafide John Jenkin's man now...^&grin.....
aren't you amazed at the weight of these figures...
some of the single SS figures weigh over 14 ounces...
practically 1 full pound...
they are extremely durable...
almost impossible to damage...
John did a great job on this series...
it was really hard for me to see it end...
I had always hoped he would do a few more Indians and British Line figures...
maybe someday...
congrats on your new figures...

Bob....Yes I"ve seen your woodland Indians in a recent Diodrama i believe..I enjoyed it immensely!! as i said i consider myself very lucky to have been able to buy these sets in one go, there are 2 more sets i want but they are available in France. The woodland Indians still come up for sale now and again but i think it would be very difficult to get a more or less complete series..and the sets are much more expensive than the Snowshoes sets...Never mind, cant have all i guess...!!.

And a big YES>>>!! to the Winter ACW Figures...count me in.

Hi Mike....Yes i am thoroughly bitten by the JJD bug..!! The figures are indeed amazingly heavy, i"m not sure what they are made of..(be interesting to know!!) but the swords/bayonets ect are really solid..and as i said before the paintwork is exquisite. Top quality all round and
compliments to JJD>>>!!.
It has all happened so fast since i made the decision to go for the Jacobite"s..now i have almost 2 complete..(or at least the figures i want)
series...a little too fast really but i did not intend to allow these Series to pass me by......Now i wonder what will be next????. Something i can take my time with..Hhhmmnnn..the Sudan looks very interesting!!!!!!!!.

Now back to your thread Steve, those Snowshoes in your Winter diorama are very nice indeed, less numbers are often more for a scene and these work a treat. cheers, Robin.
