My Plastic 54mm American Civil War Soldiers (2 Viewers)

nice figures - keep em coming - impefections arent an issue

I usually trim the flash off my plastic figures and use a needle file on my few metal soldiers, then I always undercoat in matt white and then after drying overnight start adding the top colours.

Have you done any zouaves?

I am enjoying seeing your collection and the painting of your plastic soldiers. I have some Armies in Plastic figures I'm working on and it is always good motivation to see others work like yours. Here is a link to my thread on photographing toy soldiers. Hope it helps. Let me know if you have questions.

Wow looks like a movie set. A lot of thought, time and effort put in there. Nice work. :)

General,

I like how you used the available IMEX and Accurate figures to show the variety of Confederate uniforms, and that you show one gun firing and one gun in the loading sequence.
Cheers.

With limited poses you can paint one type of figure in several different uniforms and it looks as though you have more figure types on a field than you actually do. :)

Thanks for the kind words but the enlarged photos have shown up the spots where the original plastic colouring has been exposed. :D

Serves me right for not using an undercoat.

As you have found out undercoating is verry important. I too have found out the hard way. But, I did learn. Washing is important too! Some people use a mixture of white glue and water to help the paint stick. Keep up the good work.
