My poor Allies!

Have just placed my order for the new Panther.Whilst my U.S/Brit troops enjoy overwhelming numbers on the beach, behind the beach waits an awsome collection of German armour.I say again i need FIREFLYS!!!

Yes, we need US M10 tank destroyers and British "Firelfies" for DDay, and the US M36 tank destroyer for the Battle of the Bulge (Pershing didn't see combat until AFTER the Ardennes campaign).

Until then Rob, see if your infantry came draw the Panthers forward and then shoot 'em in the sides with the M18 (DD50), or call in lots of air support.

Maybe we need a K&C scale HMS Rodney to give offshore fire support?

Theres an idea Gary,HMS Rodney or HMS Belfast.Should keep Rommel away from the beach!

In a post several months ago, more likely about a year, Andy discussed a 1/30 scale Bismark. It would need to be over 35 foot in length. I could see a Rodney at about the same length with a bit smaller Belfast. As a US Navy vet, 20 years, and amateur naval historian, I appreciate the Royal Navy and especially the two mentioned old glamor girls. They were (are in the case of Belfast) real beauties of the sea and served with great distinction.

I mentioned in those previous postings that I would love to see a 35 foot Bismark; I'd motorize it and move about these Minnesota lakes with great pleasure.

Dear Michael,
You get a 35-foot Bismark in and I will personally come christen it for you because that would be a must-see:D .

For those of you interested in 1/30 scale naval vessels, take a look at the April 21st Vectis Auction. There are several 1/30 and 1/32 scale vessels, as well as some 1/40 scale, 1/48 scale, 1/50 scale and even a 1/150 scale Bismark that's nine feet long.

Hi Louis,

Can you provide a link, please?

Thanks,
Pierre.

So the Germans are getting a Panther and the Allies are getting a Stuart.I wonder who will win that little encounter?!.

Yeah Rob,

But that's the way it was....except that is how dioramas can depict how the allies when. Now let see, add thousands of B-17's, P-51's, B-24's, B-25's and some Thunderbolts in the mix. Don't forget the largest armada of ships history has ever seen. Plus logistical and supply superiority, Allies troops (US, Brits/ Commonwealth, Poles, Free-French, etc.) coming from the West and the massive Russian troops coming from the East.

Oh of course, 10 Shermans/ Stuarts for every Panzer. Let’s see now, that Panther doesn't look so great except for in my display cabinet. I'll take three of them, LOL.
