Yes, I've done some modification to metal figures in my collection. It's all the same princliples. Biggest hassle is that it's much harder to cut the figures in half for modification. Plastic is easier (but you still get little knife holes in your fingers!)
On large parts I use two part epoxy, otherwise ACC (superglue). Bodies, arms and heads are supported with pieces of brass wire - really helps hold soft plastic together.
I,m the forum member Binder has done these for.
He did a few more for me earlier, and they are better looking in person.
Can,t wait until I receive the latest order, he has done 14 figures for me.

Probably not enough for the time involved, but it's kind of fun to create new poses. As far as a charge, GK5717 gets a deal because he wants his troops delivered in solid green. For a painted figure the price would have to get near K&C rates just because of the time involved.
Biggest problem right now is that I'm running low on "cannon fodder" the basic figures for the conversions. I haven't looked at the Germans or Russians from TSSD yet, but they may offer some opportunities for conversion and/or parts for GIs.
Binder, Your figure conversion look great. I don't know how you do it but they look great. I can do conversions but I have to fill in some spots and paint them to hide flaws in my plastic butchery.Top notch stuf Binder!
