....but it is being held hostage by the Post Office! :(

They refuse to release it untill I pay 14 pounds in custom duty and another pound for their trouble in charging me extra.

My wife is going today to take the ransom amount and hopefully secure it's release. I know we shouldn't negotiate with these demands as it's a sign of weakness... but what can you do?

Your right mate, bloodsuckers.Twenty seven quid they charged me for my Winter panther.

Would you let me know how it shapes up to K&C size wise?.

Cheers

Rob

Too small, that is why I sold mine........Michael

I see,thanks Michael.(everything i buy must fit my K&C stuff)

I'm picking up mine Sunday and will let you know but if you put these in the background it should work as well, plus I think it was Michael who said a while ago, why does everything have to go with K & C? ;)

I don't agree Rob. To me there doesn't seem much point limiting yourself to a certain companies size when there are size differences within that company as well.
Still the question of scale has been discussed many times before. Why are men so obsessed with size? :D

For me If I like a particular model then I'll buy it regardless of milimeter differences.

Besides I've happily displayed my Figarti Honey with my K&C 8th Army figs.

Yeah i guess i'm too "squinky"(phoebe from Friends would say).I just like everything to be in the same scale.A bit too much of a perfectionist i suppose, but each to their own. That Jeep does look good all the same.Cheers mate

Rob

They've escaped but the Royal Mail is reluctant to let them go....

I'm in the same boat, Parcelforce sent a letter through yesterday saying cough up £27 for your jeep + other bits, or they get sent to a POW holding area. Hopefully arriving tomorrow. :)

How much does customs charge as a % in the UK ?
we are supposed to be charged 12.5 % GST but it
almost never happens [long may that continue]

Pick a number between 20 and 50, add a '0' and the times it by 10.

It should be (I think) 17.5%, but then there are handling fees, sorting fees sticking the label on the box fees etc.

To be honest, there are many times where they don't bother with a customs charge. I think that anything over £18, can incur duty, but I've had some just over that with customs charges and some packages of several hundred pounds that they've not bothered.

I guess it's what side of bed they get out of in the morning. :(

Do they also sting you if you are buying from within the EU ,
I,m suprised they dont police it more heavily here its not
like the tax man to miss a trick !

No we don't get charged from within the EU.
Theer are ways around customs though like marking it as a gift or lowering the declared value.
The problem is that you get charged duty on the postage as well as the item itself which doesnt seem quite right somehow

charging on the postage aswell is a little rough,
I figure I have probably just given myself the commentators
'kiss of death ' when it comes to import dutys here ,so best
I go and touch wood [leaving myself wide open with that one] and throw some K and C over my left shoulder ;)

Good luck rescuing it tomorrow. Hope you like it, I'm very pleased with mine and hope they make a Chevy next! That would be cool to go with it.

:) Like they Say, "If the Glove doesn't fit 'Why wear it"! Pertaining to other manufactuers; if you Collect only 1/30 Scale figure's, then Why do you want a 1/32nd Scale? What, to keep it in the Background? It doesn,t make sence to me? But to each his own! Some Manufacturer , will be making a Stuart (Honey), N. Africa, in the 1/30th Scale soon!

As to a 1/30 scale Honey, put me down for one now......As to overseas shipping, most everything I ship overseas is listed as a gift and $25 value. I figure it is my Boston Tea Party contribution to bringing down the cost of a government....Michael

So if you are only interested in 1/30 why are you commenting on a thread for a different scale?

Still as you say to each his own as long as people don't try and force their own likes and dislikes on others.

Are you pleased with it James?.Sounds(and looks)superb.

Rob

Yeah Rob i think it it has a real quality feel about it and really conveys a sense of action!

Like the Figarti Tiger it's a favourite in my collection.
