mysterious piece (1 Viewer)

WIP on these four figures.
Added more details to the palanquin and therefore reworked the left arm of the queen.
Added headdress to the baby bearer and also tried to improve the proportions.
Added wire necklaces to the lute player.

Victor,

it’s really starting to come together! Another fantastic 3-d interpretation of a painting!👍👍. As always I am impressed by your work.

Hi Louis,

Thanks for your very kind compliment which is wholly undeserved.

I painted some light undercoats to test out the colours and also highlight the imperfections.

A friend helped me to cut some basswood so I knocked up this box frame in anticipation...

As RE Howard wrote, there is no rest for Shadizar. Only true Cimmerians know what I am talking about....

I took a long hard look at this piece and decided that the palanquin wasn't properly modelled. So I ripped it apart to redo parts of it.

Refined the sphinx and palanquin details. Also added the flowers to the baby basket.

I resculpted parts of the basket. The hand and the rear figure is done.

I m prob not going to do anymore on this piece for now. What? Has Blaster ceased prodn?😀. Nothing of the sort 😅. It’s just that I realised that this scene has alr been done before by a modeller David Catley and he has alr done an excellent job on it. So I’m not getting inspired to retread the same path.

The main reason is becos I’ve also discovered another antique ptg which is far more ambitious (and probably hasn’t been done before) 😂😂😂. Will post more on that in a new thread when I’m ready.
Eureka!
