I just recieved my scotts greys today also and they look great. The only problem that I have is with na87 which looks great but, he should have put a french lieutent and a porte aigle(eagle bearer) as the french soldiers with the set as they were the ones who protected the colors. The french eagles had a color party of a lieutent and two sergeants that were armed with sabres and two pistols each that were in holsters near their chests and carried halberds(pikes with pendants). This would have been more historicly accurate and would have looked better as they had cool looking uniforms and gear. Sergeant Ewart slashed the french lieutents head and had to fight off a lancer which tried to throw his lance at him(the lancer also had his face slashed) and fight off a few foot troopers before he had the colors secure. This type of war was up close and personal not like todays smart bombs were you never even see your enemy.

Heres a picture of a color party!

What a fantastic painting that must be in person.

I use three officers to compensate for the lack of Sergeants with pikes. One is the original K&C Colors Officers (NA33 and NA58) and on each side I put the Officers with swords (NA13 and NA57). This applies to both the Grenadier and the Old Guard. I have one set for each of 3 Companies each of Grenadiers and of Old Guard. My companies average 49 - 3 color and escorts, 6 drummers and 40 fighting men.

What me...obsessive compulsive for Napoleonics and WWII. Naah...obsessive compulsive is for BEGINNERS...I'm light years beyond that phase.:p

Hello,
Haven't posted for quite a while, but I read all posts on a daily basis. My thoughts follow what K&C have as a description of their set... the French soldiers are trying to recapture their Eagle (not Sgt Ewart actually capturing it from the colour party, he has already done this). Makes sense now??
Regards
Jeff
