What better way to celebrate the holidays then with Napoleonic British Cavalry!!! Sets NAP0198-NAP0203 Great British 12th Light Dragoons at Waterloo are now available for pre-order with a ship date of early February 2010. With the sculpting and painting you've come to expect from First Legion, these figures will make a very welcome addition to our Waterloo coverage from Napoleon's Europe. Many here have asked for British reinforcements and we fully agree, so this is just the beginning of what we have coming to continue the rapid expansion of Anglo-Allied forces at Waterloo. It's going to be a great 2010 for collectors of the Waterloo British and Allied Army!

Matt-
As expected, the Dragoons look great. Well, not just great, but really amazing! When looking at these figures together, I can really see the charge about to commence. Again, nicely done.

Have to say this statement is its own Christmas gift. Love the sound of it! Can't wait to see the Highlanders and everything else you have up your sleeve.

Thank you for the wonderful Christmas present!

Again and again: most times, after Matt spended us pictures of a new regiment or line: I sit on my chair and can't say a word;) - Nowdays I begin to think of what will be (what could) be in 5 years?
FL perhaps is the most important "driver" of the scene since K&C beginnings with matt figs 10 years ago and Contes "movie-figs" years later.
Some people call this: Revolution!

Very nice indeed Matt. I certainly will enjoy them and perhaps tinker with them a wee bit. Am I correct that the only attachment point for the weapons and weapon arms for 201, 202 and 203 is at the arm to shoulder and not anywhere else on the bodies?

Wow! These are incredibly awesome! Great way to start the year! :)

Highlanders, 95th rifles, Dutch Belgians, Brunswickers, cavalry, artillery; should be spectacular.

And more buildings too would be nice; how about it Mr Matt, La Haye Saint perhaps?

I read on another thread that Poles were in the offing for 2010. So much to which we can look forward. Italians at Borodino would also be awesome.

And not to forget some KGL, green, red and blue;):D. Oh and of course some more French; you have to have targets.:D

Matt,
I don't mean to whine in any way, but...... are there perchance any plans for a guidon bearer later on? I love the figures you have released, but I had to ask.

Nah, that's not whining, it's a valid question. As of now, we have no plans to add a Guidon or Standard to the British Light Dragoons as I don't believe they carried one at Waterloo. Unfortunately, we tend to be purists with this sort of thing. I would like nothing better than to do a standard for them as customers love standards, but if a regiment didn't carry one, we typically don't do it.

I'm going to look up and see if they carried one at Salamanca. If they did, perhaps we'll add one later. I know Spitfrnd will appreciate that. Salamanca is also the battle where this regiment earned it's nickname, the "Supple Twelfth" because of their exceptional performance there. They performed admirably at Waterloo as well, so this regiment is really one of the elite regiments of British Napoleonic Cavalry.

That is a valid point and I, being one who collects the standard bearers, only want what is proper. I have studied the ACW for years and because of your line of figures, I have started reading about the Napoleonic wars. I am well behind the curve but I have received a lot of good information from all of my fellow forum members. I am reading my first book on Borodino!
My thanks to all

Yes the "Prince of Wales" light dragoons did distinguish itself at Salamanca, althought the true cavalry stars of that contest were the Heavy Dragoons under Le Marchant and on the next day, the KGL. The 12th was even more notable for Waterloo where it undoubtedly saved many of the Union Brigade from the pursuing French cavalry. In any case, it is a pleasure to have them and more, perhaps in more aggressive postures, fighting opposing cavalry or slicing infantry, would be even more welcome.

I haven't been able to spend much time on the boards recently (been away to college and all that entails). But I come back and see all the wonderful work being done at First Legion, it truly is fantastic. Keep up the great work and I cant wait to see what yall do when you add the War Between the States to your product line.

Aggressive postures...slicing infantry (or artillerists)....fighting opposing cavalry...sounds like a wonderful recipe for the British Heavies. ;)

FL has probably the finest miniatures on the market today but I have to be honest in that I will never be able to collect any range they will ever have.A figure here a figure there maybe but at $120 a pop for a mounted figure and now around $55 for foot they are are out of my league.Bless you guys that can afford them.
