First Legion is pleased to present the Great British 51st Light Infantry regiment of Foot. The 51st Light was positioned on the right side of the Allied line at the Battle of Waterloo and was engaged in the area of Hougoumont. We have presented them as a mix of firing line and skirmishing so they can be used both in an open order display as well as shoulder to shoulder in line of battle. With 16 sets totaling 17 figures, the Great British 51st Light Infantry regiment of foot will make a fantastic addition to Waterloo dioramas the world over. We sincerely hope that you enjoy them!

Nice release....Good figure poses....We really needed more British NAPS:salute::

Great looking release :salute::, I bet my ol friend Bill is very happy indeed :wink2: . Like mentioned long needed, get em while you can sure to sell very well not a fan of panic buying just saying. regards Gebhard

Great figures!!! For sure will extend my collection.

I just wish it had a Sapper though, it seems incomplete without it. But just wishing ,as with the First Foot Guards, that there might be a release of two or more figures in the future, just hoping its in the near future.

I Agree...Some drummers standing and marching forward would also have been good to have as well in this series....Hopefully in the near future we will see additions to this series so that it doesn't pitter-out like the First Foot Guards.... British Naps in "traditional looking uniforms" are always good sellers and hopefully will continue to be made available for TS collectors interested in getting into FL Naps.....I also hope that we will see the French Chasseurs with long winter coats re-released as that series has also followed the First Foot guards and died-out as well...a shame really as it would still be a good seller as well if it were made available.:salute::

I concur with everything you said, the 1st Foot Guards (will always be one of my favorites, each of the poses of the miniatures is as special as the next one, I would really love to finish this collection with having 20, and each pose is different) needs to be re-visited, As well as the French Chasseurs, and the 18th French had both Piper and Drummer, so having a Drummer would be perfect for 51st. I might actually buy some extra ones, and convert/ retouch/repaint parts and make it Part of the 1st Foot Guards.

Back to basics, definitely on my wish list...

These have not appeared on FL's website yet, which would be useful to get a better look of them

Based on the picture of NAP0472 British 51st Light Infantry Regiment Ensign Standard Bearer - King's Colors

That does not appear to be a Union Jack ^&confuse^&confuse

Hi Gazz,
They are available on the website for pre order and to view with three images of each figure. Go to the site: in the box in the center labeled News & Releases first one in the box is the 51st, click on that and it will take you to it. Hope this helps . regards Gebhard

Cheers Gebs - I have FL as a Favourite but it does not show latest pages

Now I can see it and shame the flag does not appear to be a Union Jack.

Cheers Gazz,
Not sure what your saying about the Standard being a Union Jack. I'm no expert on the standards of English troops at Waterloo but all my research on the unit since first being announced from First Legion shows that they have nailed it again. I really think these standards are absolutely beautiful and I'm looking forward to adding them to my collection. Here is a color illustration showing both the regimental and Kings colors carried by the 51's at Waterloo, hope this helps. regards Gebhard

If you think FL have nailed it again then you are entitled to that view.

But unfortunately the FL flag bearer's flag is NOT a Union Jack.

St. Patricks Cross - the red diagonal cross does not sit right in the middle of the white diagonal, it is to one side nor is there the black edging on the British Flag.

Look at the FL Scots 92nd Flag it is more accurate

This is the British Flag.

FL - Does not appear correct.

Let's not use illustrators as a basis for a national flag !!!
