We are pleased to expand our Napoleonic Prussian offerings with sets NAP0554-NAP0562 Prussian 2nd Brandenburg Artillery! With six different figures each available individually along with both a 6lb Field Gun and 7lb Howitzer, you can mix and match to create a display of a Prussian Artillery battery arrayed for battle. Though ostensibly part of our Battle of Waterloo series, these figures fit perfectly with displays for any battle from 1813-1815 including Lutzen, Bautzen, Leipzig and countless others. We have long been requested by our more diehard Napoleonic fans to expand our coverage of the Prussians and the release of these new artillerists and field pieces is the first part of that expansion, we will also be adding additional figures later this year or early next, so stay tuned for that.

What we are waiting for is not as important as what happens to us while we are waiting, and it seems like forever since the last Prussian release and the long wait for this one.

I'm just thinking of all the wonderful releases that have came out that I wasn't waiting for and the new lines introduced, and now I wonder what will come out before the next Bavarian release.

Its been almost ten years now since the first but who's counting and waiting :wink2:. Well that would be me dammit ^&grin. Only kidding but hey I'm not getting any younger here. Sorry but with all the complaining lately thought I'd have a go. {sm4}

Great release and looks well worth the wait. Must have for me...{sm4}

Ok... One more complaint, the total price for 6 man crew and gun will be $486.65. IMO its worth it but if they would have done a Prussian artillery set back when a 6 man crew and gun were selling for under $300.00 I could have bought two. ^&grin^&grin

I count 9 Prussian Artillery soldiers in the overall picture....But I see that only 6 are currently available for purchase....when will we see the remaining 3 figures for this set? Thank You Frank

Looks to me that counting from the left 1 and 5 are duplicates as are 4 and 6 and again for the officer smoking the pipe.

Thank you...I did not notice the repeats....Good Eye:salute::

You're welcome, be nice though if they had been extra crew members.
Steve

I'm not sure an officer, or any crewman, would be careless enough to smoke while at the piece, though it is an attractive piece.

Prost!
Brad

I thought the same thing . I had an onkel Heinrich who drove a truck for DB Shenker for years and always had a cigar in his mouth but never smoked. Sad thing is he died of mouth and throat cancer, a terrible habit that took a tough man who lived through some tougher times. Really miss him :(. So for me I've already decided this figure will be him {sm4}

It reminds me, too, of a story from Frederick the Great's time, about the Berlin city militia raised during the Seven Years' War. I read a description that questioned their effectiveness as soldiers, citing their "habit of parking their burning pipes in their cartridge pouches". That must have made for an entertaining guard mounting! I imagine that the officers and NCOs assigned to the unit must have felt they were being punished.

Prost!

Classic story, I could just picture it and had a good laugh {sm4}. I think I've meet a few of those militia types {sm3}. Again great story . Prost! Gebhard

Hello Gentlemen....I just received this FL Prussian artillery set.....Excellent Release and it goes perfectly with the prior FL Prussian Figures...A great release that allows us to add to the existing ranks and prior purchases..... I hope that we will see some gun firing/charging figures as well to add to existing ranks of both the Prussians and the Russian Tauride Grenadiers.....These types of releases allow us to build a coherent battle scene and build upon prior purchases.

This is next on my hit list, had to weigh the opitions of what to get first. I went with the Tiger because I thought it would sell out first.

Frank I know your not muck of a pictures guys but any chance you could post a few shots to hold me over till I order mine ? Congrads on the new pick up its a really fantastic release. :salute::

Gebs I will try to post a picture or two this afternoon....you cannot go wrong with this purchase.....If your an FL NAP collector this is a must have:salute::

Brad,

he's an officer, so he can do what he wants, unlike to poor gunners !!!!

Good news is that he is using a pipe, so ash wouldn't be an issue, and being an officer he would not be handling the powder, BUT if I had an officer on my gun, I'd tell him to move away due to the ignition of the powder.

Look forward to the pictures.

I can think of one Napoleonic collector who won't give it a second look because of his interest in only the Peninsula campaign. That's cool, I've always wished I could be so single-minded

Really nice looking set, the only complaint would be the harsh shading on the Private with Igniter far left. It looks like 4 stripes on his sleeve instead of shading its just a bit too harsh it should not be so noticeable IMO.
