Keeping with our humble beginnings, we have another large and long awaited release for our flagship figure range, Napoleon's Europe! With our initial Prussian infantry release, the 11th Line at Waterloo, all but sold out now we have the next major foot release in the form of the 3rd Battalion Silesian Landwehr. These figures are suitable for really just about anything between 1813-1815 and we have done four different standards to provide some options and variety. The way the release is structured with a mix of advancing, charging, and semi-marching, one large unit can be created as shown in the image below or several using different pose combinations and different standards. With superb sculpting and wonderful hand painting, the release adds even more depth to what is already the finest Napoleonic figure series in the world. We sincerely hope you enjoy them!

Nice! Nobody can complain about there being flag bearers :wink2:

I'm gonna complain just a bit, there is standard bearer.... singular.

I love the pose of the standard bearer but I have to be honest I think its unfair to release one pose and offer him with four different flags.

Personally I would prefer to see four different standard bearer sculpts but if that is unreasonable, how about just selling the flags separately. It would allow collectors to create the same options and variety without having to buy four of the same figure to do it.

Hope I don't sound ungrateful and believe me I'm not, I love this release. I will own them all, many several times over to create a sizable unit but having to buy four of the same figure just to get the different flags sucks. ^&grin. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do as they say.

Great idea !!! Why hasn't some others thought of that ???

I think you’re being picky. As far as separate flags, my guess is that the flag is not separate from the figure and, therefore, it’s probably not a viable suggestion. Moreover, I can’t recall companies making interchangeable flags, although they may have been made.

I like the idea of multiple flag bearers..:salute::...It provides variation and also prevents the sales of the remaing figures in the series from becomming stagnant when there are not enough flag bearers .....Well done FL :salute::

I'm not sure but I thought it would be a good way for collectors to build variety without having to buy four of the same figure to do it.

They could still make the same amount of standard bearer figures so they wouldn't sell out too fast and you could buy the standard you prefer to go with it or you could buy all four standards and display them as you wish.

I have interest in all four of the standards that they have recreated so in order to be able to display them I will have to buy four of the same figure. It is what it is.

If you bought the flags separately there would still be only one pose to use them with or am I missing something?^&confuse

It would have been good to have some slightly different poses for the flag bearer figure but it's not absolutely necessary...(it would have required 4 different sculpts from FL )....The important thing is to produce "adequate numbers of flagbearers for the series"...Two different sculpts would be plenty as long as ENOUGH NUMBERS are produced..... The usual typical problem has been that the flagbeaers sell out quickly then few if any collectors will purchase the other remaining figures or not enter the range at all..... Lack of Flagbearers has always been the problem so this is at least a step in the right direction....INHO of course:wink2:

I don't think it would require 4 different sculpts, but it would require the one body to be cast, onto which different head and arm castings would be added before painting. - It's a beautiful figure, wish they came with a different head , or arm position for each flag type.....Same can be said for the color bearers of the Russian Naps release.

waiting for some live photos of the figures of this set.
Surely someone has already ordered and ready to share the secret :)

Just got my flags and drums from this series. I’ll post photos soon, but they are fantastic! Although he’s the same in all four, the flag bearer figure is awesome!

This figure just arrived and my eyes popped out a little when I opened the box! {eek3} I'm really happy with this beauty.
