We are pleased to continue to expand one of our favorite series, the Retreat from Russia with sets NAP0637-NAP0641 French and Allied Cavalry! The Retreat was a brutal affair for all involved, but horses in particular suffered tremendously for lack of fodder and the need for men to consume them as food. Very few troopers made the Retreat and as such Napoleon's Grand Armee suffered from a serious lack of Cavalry at the Battle of Berezina. What was left of the once glorious mounted arm of the French Grande Armee was primarily an amalgamation of units combined to help screen the final crossing. We have presented them here are such with a Carabinier Officer, 2 different Cuirassiers from the 5th Regiment, a solitary Polish Line Cavalry Lancer, and lone Hussar from the 8th Regiment trying to raise his weary horse which has collapsed. These are wonderful pieces that complement extremely well the other figures in the series and are a great addition to dioramas of all parts of the Retreat from Russia. We hope you like them!

NAP0637 French Carabinier Officer $219.95
NAP0638 French Cuirassier #1 - 5th Cuirassiers $219.95
NAP0639 French Cuirassier #2 - 5th Cuirassiers $219.95
NAP0640 Polish Line Cavalry Lancer $219.95
NAP0641 French Hussar Raising Exhausted Horse - 8th Hussars $219.95

I love the pose on the collapsing horse of the 8th Hussar, it really shows the trauma that these 'beasts of burden' (as well as the soldiers) had to contend with in the winter of 1812,

Well done, on all of these figures,

John

Tempting. If I were to collect NAPS I would definitely start off with NAP0638. That figure in particular stands out to me.

Look like nice figures, but the UK dealer charges the same price in £ sterling as $ dollar and they are a bit too expensive for my pocket, I do have 15 foot figures and they are great and make a nice diorama. I am a collector of many different manufacturers, K & C, T Gunn, Warpark and J Jenkins, when comparing what I can buy for the same cost from these compared with £219 it is a no brainer.

Well, fortunately I no longer collect Naps but regardless I'm afraid these would be too expensive for me. Unfortunately, I do collect some of the Wild West range and those mounted figures, which make no mistake are great looking, are simply too expensive for me. I'm sure those who buy them will be quite thrilled to have them.

I agree, I would love to collect the FL battle of the Bulge and winter WW2 German ranges, but just too expensive.

I agree they are very expensive but they are great figures the Retreat from Russia range is the best Nap range I've seen. As I previously only collected WB I've had to cut down the amount of figures I can get. So its the retreat range and the bulge range for me from now on ,the Bulge German armour is first rate the tiger is a work of art.
I'm afraid I can't see me going back to WB.

I have looked at the Battle of the Bulge range, they are the best out there but price is limiting. If you would have stayed with Britains, it would have been cheaper as there would have been nothing to buy over the last 2 years.

The Battle of the Bulge is very good ,I have the king Tiger and the Panther and will add as I can afford it as you say the prices are limiting. The other problem being the large armour sells fairly quickly so If you want it you have to add quickly. The WB problem is sad to see I brought a lot of soldiers from a couple of ranges ,the qualitys fine and the price was good although rising before it seemed to hit a full stop. I hope they turn it round there was a mention of Napoleonic buildings which would get me back ordering from them .

More spectacular figures. This 1812 retreat from Russia range as a whole, and the FL Samurai range , are way up with the absolute best I have seen in the world of toy soldiers.
Truly Great work.

yes they are unfortunately out of most of the collectors budget these days, as the mounted figures are nice but have gone up over time

Yes I know what you mean, but you get what you pay for ( and I have all too few) . The horses are done particularly well.
