Just wondering if any other K&C Napoleonic collectors have thought about using some of the Egyption line as accessories (ie spyinx/wall etc) as back grounds to enhance your collection, considering Napoleon was in Egypt with his army and stayed and camped around these ancient ruins....not really sure if the British were though.

Cheers

Wellington,

This would be a great idea for Andy to do as a supplemental line for the Napoleon collection. Unfortunately while the French Army was in Egypt it was the army of the Republic. They had very different uniforms then the Imperial Army. This means you really could not use any of your existing soldiers but would have to buy new ones. Hmm would have to buy new ones I wonder if that would appeal to Andy us Napoleonic collectors buying more soldiers. I tell you though the idea of setting up a French square with Mamelukes charging has got me excited. Plus if you add the French Camel Core boy what a sight!

The British by the way were involved in some battles but very lightly. It was the Royal Navy that really showed up in force. Napoleons main enemies were Mamelukes, Egyptians, and Ottoman Turkish forces. I tell you these guys would make for some pretty spectacular armies. Great idea Wellington and who knows we might get lucky and Andy might do it.

Hi Guys,

It would be interesting to see some Ottoman Janisaries as well as the Mamelukes and maybe a Royal Navy Landing party or a series of Royal Navy vs French Navy.

I didn't realize the uniforms were different if thats so, I would prefer Andy to finish what he started in the existing line before we jump off into an earler era.......:)

See the thread "Andy's Free Gift and Other Points" for his comments on Napoleon in Egypt.

Napoleon's Egyptian Campaign, a wonderful idea. I would buy all the soldiers you released in this new series. Plus, I would then go back and purchase all the accessories from the Ancient Egyptian line.

You could do a limited edition of Napoleon Bonaparte checking out the Mummies.
