Napoleon Returns ! (1 Viewer)

Yo Troopers this has just reminded me about Napolean. On the Wirral Merseyside where I used to live there is a place called Port Sunlight there is a famous factory owned by Lord Leverhulme, sadly he passed on a few years back. He built a famous village there for all his workers its really famous now every house is built different but really village class style. Anyway he also built an Art Gallery called "The Lady Lever" only went once for a look, and was totally Gobsmacked one large room was dedicated to Napolean it contained all Napoleans Bedroom furniture plus other items, all this amazing stuff was given to Lord Leverhulme as a present by a French guy cannot remember his name, but you might be able to get it online the furniture is really class what you would expect for Napolean.

No never got too close - had those pesky Security Guards around

I kept telling Mrs. Phillips - distract them for a couple of minutes and I will slip this out the backdoor !

Nice little display of stuff though.

Cheers for all the pictures, Ron, looks like you had some time over there!

Got to love the Toysoldiers Paris carrier bag Mrs. Phillips is sporting - I was almost as pleased with that as I was with my actual purchases!! It's been nearly three months since I was over there and I haven't used the bag for anything since I unloaded my K&C stuff from it. Was debating putting a few beers into it on my way out to a friend's house the other night, but just couldn't bear to risk it. It can wait patiently until my next trip to a toy soldier destination!

Be careful with that bag - the bag my wife had in the photo later broke - strap - from too much stuff (WINE BOTTLES :D) in it. They can handle little loads thats all.

Great bags - I think Fred thought I was crazy when I asked for extra bags. :p

I was a little disappointed in the number of NAPOLEONICS Fred had in the shop - I was expecting a much bigger display - although the store itself is very nice & Fred is a great guy.

He, he, well at least the bag expired in the service of a worthy cause then!

I should have thought of chancing my arm at some extra bags while I was there! They are lovely though as souvenir pieces - I don't think mine will be leaving the relative safety of my bedroom for a while.

Yes, the shop is very nice, and I'm still really glad I made the effort to get out to it while I was there. I don't think Fred was behind the counter on that occasion - it was quite a young guy, about the same age as myself, but very helpful all the same.

Cheers,

Molloy.

Will we see the bags on Ebay? LOL Hey seriously I would love one. It is not likely I will get there in the next year or two. I would love to show the GF. I can see a new collection. K&C Shopping Bags of the World!

I call this the SAINTS AND SINNERS post :D

Two pics of Sac Le Coeur Church - the highest point in Paris, you can see the whole city from there.

I had to climb the long stair case because we didn't know about the tram on the other side of the mountain !

Then the next two pics are of the famous Moulin Rouge ! Oh-La La :D  ;)
