Well it has been awhile since we had a good discussion on K&C's BEST RANGE - NAPOLEONICS !! ^&grin

I am in a major restructuring of my collection due to the loss of THREE CURIO CABINETS - ugh ! This required me to prioritize my collecting habits.

So many ranges that I was collecting have been on the Sale Block (many items still available in the For Sale Section of the Forum - a little ad here :) ) - as I reduce the overall size of my collection.

With all that being said - more focus is now being put on NAPOLEONICS !

I am excited about some of the new British releases and look forward to what comes next for calvary after the recent retirement of the Dutch Lancers - which I still need to pick up a few !

What about my fellow Nap Collectors out there - whats up with you ?

Hi Ron
Come round to your senses .. have you ? ^&grin Time you got rid of the boring WWII stuff and return to your first love.

Well .. on another thread, we were talking about the retirement of K&C Red Lancers and I was suggesting that perhaps, K&C could do its cavalry releases better, by "focusing" its releases .. rather than dilute a release, by mixing in "non-action" poses with "action" poses, as did their Red Lancers.

I was suggesting that perhaps, the interaction along the lines of K&C's last Reb cavalry release, or the all attacking French Cuirassiers & Scots Grey would prove more commercially successful.

We may see more British cavalry .. otherwise also hoping that we get some Imperial Horse Grenadiers next.

I agree that WE NEED MORE ACTION !

Although - I once pushed Andy on doing a Napoleonic Band - which I think we would be very cool ! :salute::

It's curious KC has produced so many different lines of French cavalry but only the Scots Greys for the Brit side. Would welcome any addition of British horse regt.

Would also like to see British foot artillery and more crew figs for the French.

I keep asking for more French line infantry, maybe Fusiliers in great coats to cover a wide range of campaigns (Borodino and Waterloo for sure). Attack march and advancing to form columns against the British lines would create demand for multiples.
I would like to see French Hussars for their flamboyant uniforms or Carabiniers.
I think a British cavalry regiment is more likely though.

A long shot might be Mamelukes in French service or as adversaries for a Napoleonic Egyptian campaign range.

I know Waterloo sells well but Early Empire or the above mentioned Egyptian campaign would be a nice change for Napoleonic collectors.

Hi Guys, I expect the next NAP rollout will be Brit Cav. In an e-mail exchange I had with him in the late fall he was very cagey about it, but it was part of a conversation that was had at the Symposium last year. He had suggested then the Gordons, a revisit to RHA, and Brit Cav. And 2 out of 3 are on the board. I had asked in my e-mail about Brit foot artillery also, and that's something he's considering for late 11 or early 12. But nothing about new Fr infantry. And I'm also with OD on the Cav, action works!!!!!!!!!

Ron, I'm finally on the forum, and I think the new format may have fixed the problem. Hope all is well with you and my condolences on your loss. Will possibly see you in March, and as soon as I have a handle on how to upload pics, I will put up what I sent you last year.

I think my Naps will only ever be modest, maybe only a few dozen figures, but they'll still be more than than the other metals I get (my focus is covering the development of the British Army). Anyway, I'm looking to represent as many units as possible within that final number. At this point my plan is 4 figures per infantry unit, though French Gds will have 6. As for the cavalry, I'm thinking of 3 Scots Greys and a French Cav Bde, comprised of 2 of the currissers (which I have already and love) and 2 of the next regt, with a General officer leading them all. My most wanted figures though are Rifle Bde and a Brit Line regt.

Hi Ron

It's great to see the Nap corner up and running again.:smile2:

A lot more British Cavalry in charging mode is needed with a couple of dead and dying added to the range.

We have long awaited additions to the Union brigade, as i fear my lonely birdcatchers will be cut to pieces, when all my French cavalry attack ,next time !!!! ( this weekend hopefully ).

So in my mind the Royal and Inniskilling charging along side( or infront ) of my Greys to Napoleons beautiful daughters at the Grand battery would do for me just fine at the moment.

very best wishes Mark

The Bird Catchers" which derived from both their cap badge and the capture of the Eagle at Waterloo. Another nickname of the regiment was the "Bubbly Jocks", a Scots term meaning "turkey cock".

I'm still playing 'catch up' before Andy reduces the ranks even more....

This month, I'm getting the Red Lancers, but still need to get more Coldstreams.

Great to have you as a active member of the forum finally !

Yes - I agree with you based on what Andy said last year - we should see some British Calvary very soon - perhaps as early as Spring. I think it would be great to see a dual Calvary release of British and French !!

More French Foot Troops are needed - hopefully we will see that soon too.

Ron

I am with you - spent too much money and time on WWII stuff and got very behind on Napoleonics. I need to do the same with the Red Lancers and Coldstreams as well.

I really love these guys ^&grin

For those that might be interested the scene with the two French by the door (see Ron's posted image) was done as a resin kit by a French company called Nemrod and came with the doorway (could have been a 3rd figure on other side of the door).

Probably still my favourite K&C piece, this piece from 2003....

John & Ron,

FYI, K&C HK seemed to have sold out NA160 Red Lancer trooper. Hope your dealers still have it if you are getting it. I don't normally go for parade versions, but this is a good one - as is the trumpeter NA162.

Cheers

Ron,

any clues as to the Regiment ????

John

John

NOPE - He left that in the air at Louis' event last year.

But, after talking with him several times - British Cav are sure to come soon.

I wish he would expand the French Foot Dragoons with some mounted Dragoons as well !!

There is always a great demand for FRENCH TROOPS - as we all know !

^&grin ^&grin ^&grin
