Just wanted to let you guys know that I have been playing a really good Napoleonic game for the past half a year on my computer. The graphics are VERY GOOD, uniforms and landscape rule and the game play is EXCELLENT!!!!! It is the best on the market. The game is called "IMPERIAL GLORY", made by EIDOS.

Cheers

Just thought all you Napoleonic fans out there would like to get your self a copy to play considering the figures we collect are too fragile and it may seem a little juvenile to be playing with toy soldiers....:)

I don't have Imperial glory, but I play Cossacks II: Napoleonic wars. You can replay famous battles, and you can create up to 64000 (!) units. I just love this game! Graphics aren't that spectacular, but it's nice to look at...

On a dark rainy winter night, when I have no intention of setting foot outside the door, I resort to the tried and trusted Microsoft/Ensemble Studios "Age of Empires II: Age of Kings" as a Real Time Strategy game. Endless building up a civilisation, only to see it massacred when out of sheer deviousness I march half my armies away from my town just to see what attack strength the AI has managed.

I have since forgotton what wargame I played, but as Napoleon, I did manage to beat Wellington and the Blucher at the cost of 59,000 dead Frenchmen. I set my difficulty to no retreat, no surrender. It was fun, in a bloody kind of way....Michael

I'm going to look for this game. But if Fighting miniature Historical battles is considered juvinile then so be it.
I had at one point over 6,000 painted 15mm Napoleonics and the battles were a visual splendor, the rule system took years to master and were absolutely thrilling when the games came off.
Lots of Hobbies could be considered juvinile.Including collecting toy soliders.
