Napoleonic french artillery conversions (1 Viewer)

Wow Fish, Really cool! You have the whole thing down, ammo train, Officers, every detail.Conversions are splendid.
I saw all these sets on the shelf at a shop at the old prices the other day but I was in a hurry and only stopped in for glue!Plus there was a new FOV King Tiger with Porsche turret, a bunch of scenery items I wanted etc etc.
I decided I had enough unfinished projects already!
Have you considered converting any Guard Horse crewmen to Line horse gunners?
Again, lots of work and dedication in your battery.Top notch!

Tim...too cool...

your conversions turned out really good...so many different poses...it really adds to the diorama...

the campfire turned out pretty cool too...nice work...

I just put a river on mine and am thinking about putting some planking under the guns...

as suggested to me by Fraxinus aka Ken in this link...

I really think the guns mending the wagon wheel are just too cool...

thanks again for the help...

Yes I have considered it Harold! The thought has passed my mind already. Maybe When I get up the courage to chop up a couple more boxes I just might swop out the heads also and go for it??? I just need to find the right heads, some that look pretty good??? I was thinking of crews under attack from cavalry? Fighting off the attack with ram rods, hiding under the guns, dead, wounded all kinds of fun stuff! I still need more limbers for all those guns also if I want a realistic looking gun battery:eek: horse holders more gunners ammo wagons maybe some horses rearing from the gun blasts while the holders try to steady them? I was thinking some horse artillery on the run being chased? Convert a couple of limbers with running horses and mounted gunners using the Italeri hussars with new heads as gunners in action. I,ve got so many ideas I don,t know where to start??? I was also thinking of some line artillery in great coats. and even converting some Wuttenburg artillery crews also now that the hat figures are availible.
So many ideas, no to just find the time to get started on some of these projects and worse yet to get paint on them all if I ever do get around to tackling these new project ideas, not to mention all the ideas I have for new buildings and diorama type iteams.
My mind never stops wondering, if I could only focus in on one thing at a time I,d get so much more done but life has its way of getting in the way of play so 90% of these ideas will never see the light of day.
If I ever ran a toy soldier co. I,d give Contes future plans schudle a run for its money!:p

Fish

great post you did on the hat website - great inspiration for a raft of other figure painters/converters - Italeri should be paying you for promoting their figures!!

Thanks Dave! I was hoping to flush out some other figure converters, I love talking with other figure converters and seeing there work work but not that many guys seem to like to share there work or there are not that many figure converters out there??? I hope it wasn,t out of line posting Italeri figures on a Hat forum was I?:confused:but I just wanted to talk conversions with other converters and the figures just happened to be Italeri. I can assure you that Italeri is not paying me or supporting me in any way shape or form. I only wish I had that kind of deal with what there figures cost these days. Nice figures but the prices have gone crazy on these things, the limer and wagon sets are going for $40 bucks now!:eek:Hopefully Hat will start pumping out even more Napoleonic sets and I,ll do the same with there figures.
Dave your painting and converting skills are great! Have you ever thought of showing your figures in a dioroma setting with a few scenics?

Hi Fish

ok great - will post some conversions when done. I am currently making a troop of 12th Light Dragoons Waterloo out of Helmet 1/32nd Soldiers kits which are great for spare parts too.
The problem I have is that I have too many figures work in progress and not enough getting finished. I currently have over 1000 figures on my workbenches all in different scales 1/72nd , 28mm and 54mm of course. Will try to post some pics soon.
Keep up the good work and I am sure that hat have some surprises up their sleeves in 1/32nd scale for the future. Italeri prices did shoot up last year considerably for some reason that is why I am glad hat and Airfix are priced reasonably.
Regards
9th/Dave
