Does anyone know when the next Nap release is due out? I am passing up the Russians and very eager and curious to see what is up next. Rob

Nothing but sliver of info on the next line:eek:, just some hints at French line arty possibly. At least I'll have time to catch up my Black Watch range:).

Ron where are you? We need any inside info:).

French line artillery
French/Polish lancers
French command set
more French artillery
French supply train
French baggage train
French allied Italian allies
French allied Dutch allies

British Guards cavalry
more Scots Guard cavalry, including officer
British line artillery
British command set
British Hussiars

Russian cavalry ... Curaissers
more Russian artillery

:D :D :D

French supply train?

Are we talking trains here?

KC doing trains? Would love that

I don't collect the stuff but I recall that a fan of the Napoleonic game got some inside information that a new French artillery set was being released this year, perhaps a 12 pounder ;)

Gentlemen

Good Morning - I have just returned from a long business trip and I am now trying to catch up on the posts of the forum.

On the subject of NAPOLEONICS :D

I had an exchange of emails with Andy recently - he told me that there would be a new release of FRENCH 3rd LINE ARTILLERY this year !

The response was "now you heard it from the horses mouth" !! So with those words I felt it could become info for the forum. Andy, said there would be exciting releases this year with NAPOLEONICS - we will have to wait and see what comes up....we do have 7 more dispatches this year ;)

I do not believe there will be any new "Old Guard" releases - I spoken with Andy awhile back on that topic (firing figures for the old guard) and at that time he wasn't interested in making anymore "new" Old Guard - as we have seen in the past that can change too - keep your fingers crossed.

Thats what I know - so lets see what happens.

Ron

Hi Ron ... was wondering about the silence. Welcome back.

Everbody else ... what release would you personally consider exciting ? Well, we may not get your choice this year, but if Andy is listening, who knows.

For me, I would say ... an artillery piece with multiple pose gun crew sold seperately, which would allow me to put together a battery of 4 guns.
:D :D :D

How about some French Marines a la Trafalgar. They would be an unusual and interesting subject, although I do like OD's suggestion for multi-pose gun crews as well.
Cheers

OD, I too like your suggestion for multiple pose gun crew. I currently have 3 of each artillery release for my batteries but are reluctant to get any more as there is only so many positions you can put these guys in to look different. But the commercial reality of producing multi pose crew make our chances very slim. An artillery horse team and limber, at stand or on the gallop, now that would be cool!!

Otherwise, I know we have a lot of cavalry, but as Patriot are now bringing out their Brunswicks, I wait in anticipation for Andy to produce French Carabiniers and Polish/Dutch Red Lancers. We can never have enough lancers and they are spectacular on the field - they bring it to life!

BTW all I need is one of each of Polish and Dutch Red Lancers mounted at the stand still. I would have them waiting in long lines in reserve (Andy if you're reading this that means one mounted figure to produce both regiments at stand - should be very cost effective?).

Thanks and Cheers :)

Second the idea of horse drawn artillery! I also like the idea of some cavalry pieces standing still or at a cantor. That makes it easy to do a larger formation. I beleive the French Chasseurs are the only non-action pose Cav currently available and I have been able to put together a nice little troop with just a few poses.

Guys

I would think that Andy could make some action Polish lancers with the molds of the WW1 Calvary Figures quite nicely. A little resculpt and BINGO ! A new best seller !! :)

Ron

I would love to hear your predictions for upcoming Napoleonic retirements. In particular, how much longer do y'all think the Scots Greys and Black Watch will remain un-retired?

Thanks

MD

I've been worried about the Nap retirement issue myself. I've been told that the Black Watch will be around at least a little while longer but I've noticed that occasionally a certain pose will be retired. This is certainly the case with the 42nd. I wish that they would offer at least 1 or 2 lines, both French & British which could stay in some sort of constant production. Many Nap collectors would, I think, like to build up larger displays over time but it's hard to get started on a line if it will be retired in 2 months:(.(some of us don't ebay) I would think a few iconic lines like the Foot Guards & Imperial Guard would work for this. O K , I said Foot Guards 'cause I want to start them after I finish the 42nd this summer:eek:;), just a little self interest there. I have thought about resulting to humiliating public begging, Andy please, please, please don't off the Guards till at least mid 09:D!

The Old Guard has been around for a long time - I would think they would be coming soon to the chopping block !

I think some of the older French Line figures you are going to see get whacked - one at a time - like the French Drummer.

Scot Greys - might have a little longer - but, there time is coming too. I am sure Andy has another Allied Calvary Unit in mind to produce. Hopefully we will see some LANCERS for the French Forces. ;)

OLD GUARD ARTILLERY will be replaced by the new FRENCH LINE ARTILLERY.

There you have it all the questions answered by my crystal ball :D

Does your crystal ball foresee any Horse Drawn Artillery? I would be all over a set (or two) of that:cool:. Is it the expense or breakage factor in the lack of production because few if any manufactures make these types of sets any more?

Hi Ron

To consult your crystal ball ...

IMHO ... K&C should be able to reinvogorate (spelling?) the older lines like the Scots Grey by selectively retiring individual pieces and releasing a couple of new poses. For Eg ... for the French Line, the drummer may be replaced by a new marching/advancing figure,
or for the Scots Grey, the guy falling over horse may be replaced by, a new grey Officer ?

Another thing ... we have in many instances expressed our to see Polish Lancers as the next line of French allied cavalry ... but who
is going to be the next line of Coalition cavalry ... Russian Curaissers or British Life guards ?

Will the new French line artillery .. be accompanied by an artillery train ?

As an aside .. NO, I dont think that K&C is overwhelmingly WWII.

Best wishes to all.

Yeah Ron - and then the usual bunch of K&C bashers on here moaning about them being the same pose as the Uhulans.
But would we care - not a jot. Bring on the Polish Lancers based on the WWI Uhulans say's I.....and I'll happily take up the shilling again.

Cheers

How about some cossack cavalry in addition to the nap Russian release!!!
