Napoleonic Retreat from Moscow Figures for diorama project (1 Viewer)

A figure to go with what is becoming a large amount of figures and carts etc for a 1812 French Napoleonic Retreat from Moscow diorama I plan to build. I’ll add more as I go. This one was bought from Eastern Europe but I think is a copy of an Andrea Figure. Sorry for the poor pictures it looks a lot better in reality.

The rest of the figures painted so far are from Rose Miniatures I will add pictures of those in due course.

Yes it's an Andrea kit S7-F26 and I painted one for a local collector a few years back ... very nice pose



I've aslo painted some of the figures from John Eden (Rose Miniatures) but with gloss finish for another local guy.



My favorites are by Tradition of London and I have painted all of them.

Hi,

They look great Obee, I’ve just noticed I’ve missed the red white and blue badge on the hat which I’ll now add. The Rose figures are the ones I’ve painted as well it’s up to about 60 to 70 now and includes sledges and two carts. I’ve got a four horse Artillery Set from him on order as well.

I’ll definitely look up the Tradition figures as well.

Anyone know where you can get Russian Castings in winter dress for some harrying especially Cavalry?

Tradition of London make 2 mounted and 2 foot Russians as castings, but in their model soldier range

Fusilier also make a great range of figures from this particular campaign, but as far as i can see they are only sold as painted figures. maybe you could contact them as ask if they sell castings?

I was given a Fusilier casting a few years back of one of the sleds and painted it ...

Love the paint job on that figure! I’ll definitely check out the Fusilier website I’ve already looked at the Tradition website and will get a few figures. I think this might turn into a big diorama!

Each piece is special, I feel like it can tell a story if you will set it up as one.

Some more examples some need another Matt varnish as they are still shiny and the bigger sleds andncarts and horses still need poles/reins attaching. Sorry for the poor quality pictures taken on my phone and then had to up the brightness so they do look better in reality.

Hi, thanks for the tip spoke to Fusilier and two mounted Cossacks castings ordered and on route.
