This is the latest painting project for Konrad and the figures are again Tradition castings but these have been adapted from their Model Soldier range to the Toy Soldier style.

This set represents a brief episode in the Peninsular Campaign depicting a group of Napoleons men carousing with a camp follower and sporting their victors spoils.

This is the photo of the finished set taken from the Tradition site and my usual photo showing the individual bagged figures.

Yo Jeff, this brought a smile to my face this morning. Just pictured your lovely wife saying "Right Jeff I am painting the dress on the camp follower & the nipples" lol they pull rank and get all the best jobs.:mad::mad::
Bernard. ;)

Hi Jeff,
I am looking much forward to see them developing through the several stages of your painting.
After seeing your albums and what you painted "together" with your wife, I am not concerned about who of you paints the camp follower, it is going to be good.
Then again, after second thoughts, maybe your wife makes the prettier version
After all, there are not many women in the Toy Soldier ranges to be painted and here is a chance :)
How about that?
Do you think you can get her "back in business" for this one ?

Reference the comment that there are not too many women in the toy soldier ranges, may I draw your attention to Asset, (info @assetminiatures.co.uk) who have an extensive range of female figures, both military and civilian including their well known "Home Front" range of WW2 ladies and children, and also ATS (www.ats-uk.net) who have quite a few female figures both in the "Newbury St." series and also scattered throughout their other ranges. Most makers have one or two females here and there and I think you will find that there are more than you thought.

And then there are the Conte femme Pirates, barbarians and the promised adventurist.:D

Not to mention Phoenix and its lines (including the Phollies line), and Imperial and Trophy with their civilians. They're out there, female figures are, but still, I'd reckon at less that 5% of all figures ever made.

.........and they are all big women  :D.

Ok, back to reality…here we have all the castings laid out ready for cleaning up and assembling, not that there is much in the way of flash.
These are, as I have said before, are actually Model Soldiers and according to Tradition these castings were sculpted by the very talented Alan Caton.
The bag of accoutrements contains quite a selection of bits to paint, should be a colourful set.

Next step will be assembly followed by the usual undercoating.

The figures have been cleaned up and assembled with a gel type super glue, interesting the way all the bits fitted together.

The figures and accoutrements with the usual couple of light coats of grey primer, brings out the detail. I will leave these for a couple of days to dry before starting painting.

The detail on these really show up once undercoated, so a few closer uppers before I start slapping some paint on.

Yo Wraith, these are going to be costly, have you seen all the GREEN paint, I believe its very rare stuff these days.
Bernard.

Very good to see the main colors applied and best of all, the "Green" is on. Was worried about that for a while but now there is no way back :D

Spoils of War! Question??

This is a "neat" diorama, but what battle is it after where the French have all the British "spoils?"

Hi Konrad,

Not only is there a little Green but there will be a nice PINK as well. I hope to get a bit more done in the next few days, so stay tuned!

Regards

Jeff
