I'm not sure about the maker, so maybe some details of what is on the bases would help.

They are both Napoleonic era figures, the standing one is French and the fallen figures is British. As both have swords, I'd say both are infantry officers.

if you can take more pictures, front on, and of the bases, it will help with ID.

I agree with John that these appear to be Napoleonic era figures. The lying figure appears to be a rifles officer?

The photo also seems to be reversed, with both swords in the left hand and the scabbards on the right side.

I took the liberty of brightening up the pic.

Victor,

Thanks for point out the reversed image, I've 'mirrored' it :)

Still can't ID these, but the British isn't a Rifles officer, he has a red coat, but he could be Infantry ???

If you can take a picture of the figures next to a ruler, that can help us, too. Those from the bottles in the background, they look like they are small. These remind me of small-scale figures I've seen, around 1/72 scale, but I don't know who made them. I have a couple in my stash somewhere, French Napoloenic line infantry. I've also seen them on eBay, particularly eBay/Germany.

If they're larger, then I'm not sure who made them.

Prost!

Thanks guys, the photo is actually from a film, its my brother´s favorite film so I thought it would make a nice gift if I could find them, but I recognize it is a bit of a long shot with just that one photo. Problem is that it is the only good frame of the toy soldiers in the film. I understand that it is little to go on, but just the fact that that you can recognize that they are French/British soldiers from Napoloenic times is very helpful. I have very limited knowledge on this topic, but they look like they might be made out of tin no?

OK, they look larger than 1/72 scale (approx 25mm), but still smaller than 60mm or 54m, judging by that jar in the background.

I don't think it's a modern Britain's figure, though, only because of the huge amount of paint loss, which isn't too likely to happen to a figure like that. Not impossible, just not too likely.

Again, the figures remind of things I've seen on German eBay. I suspect that they were made by a maker on the Continent, and I'd guess that the alloy used to cast them is a typical white metal alloy, containing tin, with lead, and antimony, in some proportion.

Prost!

Sure looks like, even to the yellow collar .... great looking :)

Maybe the other figures are Britains ?????

John

Yes! thank you, thats definitely it. Im guessing they've wore it down to make it look "well loved" for the film:tongue:
it is from the 2009 collection. Cannot find the British soldier though, but it looks like its from the same manufacturer...

I am pretty sure i have an unknown recast here somewhere of the supine figure. will have a look around on Sat.
