Hi. I purchased this figure years ago from the Little Led Soldier Shop in New Orleans at 728 Rue St. Louis.

Can anyone help me identify the manufacturer, reference number, etc about the figure?

Thanks,
MikeNick

Hi, Mike, what scale/size is your figure, 54mm or some other size?

Prost!
Brad

could be a Cavalier figure

Good suggestion, I think you may be right. I'll have to look through my archives and see if I have any pics. Maybe in old copies of Campaigns or Military Modelling.

Prost!

i see it from time to time on ebay...Bugle and Guidon(?) something like that, or Cavalier.... I know the painter of that figure, still kicking and painting

yes, that's the place..their website is down unfortunately

I think I have the email address for the shop at home, so I'll check tonight on my PC and send it to you, and you can try that,

My friend Mike in New Orleans sent me this reply:

The Mountain Man is def Bugle and Guidon from mid 1970 s.
King Toot is a friend of mine and he thought I had painted that particular figure.
I didn't but it was from Le Petit Soldier shop.
As of last December I don't work for them anymore.

So hope that helps,

John

John,

Thank you very much.

Since Le Petit was/is the only toy soldier shop on the northern Gulf Coast, I bought a number of figures from there. Your friend's experience with the shop could also help me with a few other figures.

Would you mind helping me some more?

If yes, these are the figures that draw a blank as to the manufacturer and reference number, if any. The one of U.S. Grant #9924 was by Valiant, but the one of Robert E. Lee is not in their catalog. My parents bought both at Le Petit in the late 70s or early 80s. Someone on this thread said that a man by the name of "wall" from chatanooga made it . Could that be Ron Wall of Ron Wall Miniatures?

Lastly, I bought the Nazi flagbearer from Le Petit. Does your friend recognize the manufacturer of it?

I've already posted this in another thread, but here it is again:

Mike in new orleans has supplied this info:

The Grant is Valiant but was originally Squadron Rubin.Valiant bought their molds after SR shut down.

The R E Lee is Cameo Minatures sculpted by Reg Boutet . The early Viet Nam figures he once had under his own name are also made by Valiant now-the Cameo line (unfortunately) is not.

The Nazi is H.A.M. from the 1960 s.They had drummer, private and officer in the same series.

Hope this helps but is making me feel very old. MW NOLA

Is the Le Petit Soldier Shop still open. I knew that it was bought out after Hurricane Katrina, but last Spring someone told me that the shop was only selling its remaining stock and not adding any more

Thanks again.

LePetit is now Sword and Pen and is open six days a week and continues to add painted figures to the shelves. Hurricane Katrina knocked the shop and New Orleans down for a while but it is now re-opened for business.

Thanks.

I went by the store a few weeks ago. I loved the experience. The manager was very informative. I will make a stop at the store a step of my piligrimage to New Orleans.
