Hey there,

a few weeks ago i stumbled upon a box of 26 toy soldiers. My dad told me, that I bought these over a couple of years during our yearly visit to London when I was still a teenager.

The bases are really worn but I could still see a few marks that pointed me to the manufacturer "Tradition of London". They have an absurdly large catalog, but I found some figures that are looking quite similar to mine: https://traditionoflondonshop.com/e...oldiers_set_british_foot_guards_painted~11311

There are a few differences in the colouring (Drummer hast a blue jacket) and shine, which could be due to wear?!
Or could it be that these miniatures were originally unpainted?

Would really appreaciate, if someone could confirm the manufacturer.

Thanks and best regards.

Sebastian

You are correct about them being from Tradition.

Yes, they are still available and listed on their website.

The difference in the coat colour of the drummer is because the drummer had reverse colours than that of the soldiers.
These have blue facings (cuffs, collar and officer's lapels).
But to be really accurate blue facings were for Royal regiments and those drummers had red coats, blue facings and royal lace.

Here is my set of the figures, but mine are painted as the 27th Regiment of Foot, Inniskilling, with buff facings.

I have now added the pioneers, colour sergeants and colours.
