I love ceremonial and bands and, had the RM band until as I mentioned last year it was stolen by a so-called friend. It was a effort and costly to replace.

I think they will always command good prices as they attractive and superb releases. I would like to see a K&C guards band with marching troops but, then I would probably end up living in a tent!!!!

Hopefully this will be addressed soon
Mitch

Wow stolen by a friend, now that just stinks.....{sm2}

Jon,

Forgot to add this one

Thanks for the kind words and I will certainly keep you in mind if I ever decide to change the direction of my collection. If your travels ever take you into the Big Apple, let me know. All the best, Lawrence

Lawrence, Being as that 8th Army Band was the only British band to come out in the last 10 or 12 years I couldn't resist purchasing them either!!!!!!
Thanks for the great pictures and your kind gift! It was a wonderful treat to watch my son carefully line up the figures you sent in the curio cabinet as I watched from Skype video here in Iraq!:smile2:

The reason that the prices for bands and ceremonials is so high - is that they take an age to put together and paint - which is expensive in hours. It would cost the TS companies a fortune to produce them. The answer is blindingly obvious. - do them yourself.

I know - " I cant do it!"

YES YOU CAN. If you take your time - and practice.

I used to say that - and it stopped me collecting - DEAD! - when I had a growing family to support.

But - I had another go - much later - ONE AT A TIME ( and thats the secret - do them ONE AT A TIME!).

Took forever - to begin with - but then it got quicker.

PLEASE - give it a try - the hobby is so much more rewarding if you do. Honest - you can do it - if you persevere. I promise ! - johnnybach

very true

Jon,

Hope all is well by you. Recently purchased these figures with the help of a fellow Forum Member.

There was a discussion on another thread in the glossy King & Country section regarding these figures. There appeared to be a discrepency between the figures shown in K&C's Brochures and those in the collections of fellow members. My figures did not match those of the brochure, but I was finally able to track down a few figures that did match the brochure. The Flagbearer is definitely K&C, but I do not believe the flag is correct. To help solve this mystery, perhaps someone going to the Chicago show can ask Andy or Gordon to clarify how and why there were two different runs made.

Lawrence Lo u are a lucky man to find those figures
I'm always amazed looking at ur collection
The EA band is the only one i have
Hope KC would make more bands
It would be great if KC would make a band to go with
the son of the empire, like an Indian band
Take care my freind

Lawrence, What a nice Find!!!!!!:) Those figures were well kept. Concerning the flag, it almost looks like it came from an Imperial set. Let us know!

Jon,

Just got an e-mail back from Andy. He confirmed the flag is K&C, but should not have been with this set - an unsolved mystery.

Hope you get back stateside soon.

All the best,
Lawrence

Thanks for the kind words and apologies for the late reply. Sadly, I think the economics with regard to bands, makes it difficult for K&C to make bands (the Germans seem to be the exception). Having said that though, you never know with Andy. Hope you can make it to the Hackensack show and look forward to meeting you in person. All the best, Lawrence

I never miss the Hackensack show
i like to see what's new and buy a few FL from George
Always been a special day to me

Lawrence,

Did Andy say nothing of the arm positions? And are you saying we have a K&C flag and nobody including Andy knows what set it belongs with?

Markey,

Andy did confirm the figures in the brochure and those in your collection as well as mine are all K&C. As to why there are different versions, I did not get a definitive answer from Andy. If I hear anything further I will let you know.
