Netflix 'The Punisher' (1 Viewer)

Anyone watch this show? It is in season 2 now. It stars Jon Bernthal (Shane of TWD, Coon-*** Travis of Fury) as Frank 'The Punisher' Castle. It is very violent, lots of gunplay, knife fights, blood everywhere. I thought Ray Donovan got beaten up a lot but he's an amateur compared to Castle. Has interesting story line and it is entertaining in a non-demanding sort of way. Not for the faint-of-heart. :wink2: -- Al

I watched 1 1/2 episodes...this guy is too broody and dark to follow...I let it go...

All of the Marvel series on Netflix are pretty good. Unfortunately, most of them have been cancelled by Disney.

I liked the movie that came out years ago, will give this a try. As for guns, knives and guys getting beaten up a lot, First Prize has to go to 'Hardcore Henry', also on Netflix. Don't expect too much 'quality' as it's a low budget Russian/American movie, but the fights scenes and stunts are pretty impressive and I'd be surprised if some guys didn't get seriously hurt making that movie.

Agree, but I did like the way season 2 ended. Found myself wondering how Castle functioned after being beaten up, stabbed, and shot in almost every episode. He is made of sterner stuff than I as I would have found a good hiding place after the first or second beating/stabbing/shooting.:rolleyes2: -- Al

I read the Punisher comics... Geek that I am. The tv series are not too bad but the actor comes across as a bit of a dimwit who reacts to the situations. In the comics, the Punisher is a more deliberate and savvy character.

Marine Corps makes this more 'edgy'. I like 'edgy'.

Bummer. Netflix has cancelled The Punisher, so no Season 3. Actually, Netflix has cancelled ALL the Marvel based series recently. -- Al

The Marvel series are Disney properties and Disney wants them for their channel or to license separately. The last season of Jessica Jones will be on Netflix however. That's a good series worth watching.
