Is there any news when there be some new set for the Arnhem range coming out ?

Im glad you broached the subject and am ready to release some outstanding news for aviation collectors:

I am please to announce that The Collectors Showcase will soon be releasing the " Eagles Of The Sky " 1/30th aviation series. Inspired by the Warbirds series we have three initial models to be offered. We will offer just 5 signature pieces in each run.

We have added some incredible additions to our series:

1.Aerolons that actually work. That is rudder and elevation controls will be fixed not by the factory but the customer.

2.Cockpit details that include working footpedals and hand wheel controls.

3. All units will come with seats that are filled with actual foam.

4. Aluminum fuselage panels throughout, with patented micro rivets!

5. A completely operable landing wheel capability, with real rubber tires filled with air.

6. Motors that can be viewed in museum mode: that is a cutaway that allows viewers to see the interior of the engine.

7. Each Eagle Of The Sky will have two mounting options, a scale landing strip or a 22" acrylic rod to facilitate mock flight.

8. In flight sounds will pipe in from the included sound card. Hear pilot to pilot chatter and engine rumblings as the plane taxis forward.

We'll keep you posted as the products develop: thank you for your inquiry!

best regards,

Brian

Re: Questions For Brian

Hi Brian,

HOLY COW!!! What an exciting development! I am dumbfounded at the details you describe! Will you post pictures of these aircraft before too very long? I can hardly wait to see them.

Also, can you tell us anything regarding the proposed prices of these planes?

Keep up the excitingly creative good work!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Re: Questions For Brian

Brian,

This is very interesting news. What will be the planes, what will these planes be made of and how much?

Re: Questions For Brian

i agree with Brad,

...
They sound great but do mean just FIVE of each aircraft? That would mean it would only be exciting news for the first five to order.:(

Wow this certainly does sound exciting and I don't even collect aircraft

Can't wait to see these babies :)

Just now some-one is going to release a 1:30 spitfire that actually flys around you backyard whilst shooting tracer at pigeons.\
Sounds good. Brian I look forward to seeing these planes. Hopefully they won't be limited to five each and hopefully they will not cost a kidney.
Regards
Damian

Brian:

If you do the Fieseller Storch in DAK colors, I guarantee you it will be a sell-out!
An L4 Piper Cub will be another one. They were integral to the field artillery units...just count the number of how many of us bought the Figarti Long Tom.

So, if you are doing the above planes, consider this as my pre-order
This is SWEET!

Based on all the details mentioned in the initial post, these will probably not be wood but probably some sort of metal, perhaps diecast, which probably lessens its interest for me as Corgi diecast is still available in 1/32 scale.

As I understand it, Corgi has discontinued their 1:32 scale die-cast planes.

Hobby Master is now making 1:32 planes in die-cast. And HM is using less metal content now than Corgi did because of the 400+% increase in the cost of zinc.

I hope CS does their 1;30 planes. But I'd say to price would be out of reach.
Just my 2 cents.

Actually our series will replicate the original medium of each selected " Eagle Of The Sky ". The Hawker Hurricane was made of wood, so if that was one of the subjects it would be made of wood, while the P-51 was aluminum, hence our metal construction based on alloy panels.

In regards to servo's we have found a cache of very cost effective micro digital servo's that would serve as psuedo robotic armitures for a variety of moving animitronic parts. The flaps are currently being fitted with some of these servos as we speak, and working quite well.

In regards to numbers I meant five variants, I apologize: price will be market set by other manufacturers on the forum for current products of this type so no suprise there. First production numbers will be about 20 units based on demand.

We have set aside half of the studio for our assembly and will post assembly photos as they become available. This currently is the focus of the group as we believe the limited edition potential is great for hardcore aviationists.

We believe that peer manufacturers have just touched the tip of the iceberg in what is truly viable in regards to full working parts and control surfaces when it comes to the Warbirds style of product. We intend to elevate the genre to an actual mechanized model with full micro detail and operational micro servos allowing you the customer to control almost every aspect of flight.

Best regards,

Brian

I've see the trend of die-cast makers moving more toward aluminum, for cost reasons.

And your going to get the attention of the hard core plane guys all right.
I have over 700+ die-cast planes in all scales, so I can claim to be one

At this stage, I'd be looking for the more obscure subject.

Your concept about micro motion, may just be the obscurity we need.

This sound most interesting.

Have you heard of THE MODEL HANGER ( themodelhanger.com ) forum Brian? Their mostly a die-cast plane forum and a great bunch. Infact your items were being discussed there just yesterday, check them out and toss around your concept with them. ;)

He says they will cost the same as similar other planes. However, I have no idea how much such planes cost or exist. Moreover, although I will be interested to see one and how it works, as it is some form of metal and not necessarily wood, I don't think I would be interested in it.

As far as the Hurricane being made of wood, that's not correct. It was a metal frame, with a fabric covering.

Brian

The description is incredible. Obviously we will have to wait to see the product and learn what the final cost will be.

I've been avoiding the aircraft series because my other interests are already pushing my budget to the max but I was interested in aircraft long before I became interested in AFVs.

Interesting

I think Brian means the K and C warbird price. So I presume it is 600-880USD.
Or about onekidney if you go on holiday to one of these illegal kidney transplant safaris.

Damian,

As I parse his words, that's not altogether clear -- "price will be market set by other manufacturers on the forum for current products of this type" -- I don't think there are on his type on the market but although I'm interested in paying the K & C rate for a few wooden planes per year, I'm not interested in doing so if they're diecast, no offense to those collectors.

Brad for someone who's not interested, you sure post alot on this thread. Me thinks, thou protest to much. Your just hoping you don't like them and thus avoiding a way of figuring out how to pay for them.
