While I posted a scan of Britains latest WWII flyer, I don't think it did justice to the figures. We now have better images - so here they are! We hope to have them on the web site to pre-order in the next few days.

Well, that's the group of new releases. The whole diorama image didn't turn out very well in the scan - so you can see it here:

It's a bit large, but worth the look!

These far surpass the Britains of RC2. First Gear may be on to something!

Let us know what you think of them!

Peter, according to the pictures you may be correct. I look forward to seeing and hearing more about them. While Britains may not be my favorite, I still enjoy collecting some of their pieces, especially the vehicles, I love their Panzer IV series.

It all looks awesome. I really like the splinter pattern camo on the German Paras.
I have an original poncho here and it looks dead on. Great stuf.
I just need more room!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Peter:

How does it look side by side with KC's M8? compatible?
N-P

As to size, probably not. As to quality? It's hard to say without seeing one in person although K & C adds more touches and there's really no comparison with the detailing in the figures.

Peter,

I like what I see very much. I think Britains is making a significant effort to improve its products and the effort is clearly visable in these sets of vehicles and figures. It seems pointless to me to debate the merits of the Britains figures versus the merits of K & C figures as they are different scales. I am especially pleased with Britains efforts for those collectors who collect and/or prefer the 1:32 scale. In my opinion, Britains is on the right track to attract more customers from a significant portion of the collecting crowd! I applaud their constructive efforts!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

I don't want to turn this into the kind of debate Pat mentions but with 54 the size of the figure has nothing to do with the quality of the sculpting and I just don't see that kind of quality with these figures.

IMO, the bottom line is that 1/32 scale is presently experiencing a Renaissance with the quality and production capacity on the rise. I’m excited about the future of this market segment.

When I started collecting just 14 months ago the 1/32 scale WWII market had little to offer except FOV. The figures were dominated by poor quality Britains, old Conte figures (produced years ago) and with new Figarti and ONWTC sets yet to be released. The entire market segment was stale and diminishing.

It was bleak!

IMO, 1/32 scale WWII market is going through a much needed Renaissance lead by Conte, ONWTC, Figarti and Britains (I’m happy to say) with quality FOV (Enthusiast series) continuing to supply the bulk of the vehicles.

This is a great thing for 1/32 scale collectors that have been deprived of the innovation and perceived quality dominated by King and Country in the 1/30 market. This 1/32 Renaissance is coming barely in time to stem the tide of collectors migrating to the 1/30 market.

Again IMO, given that the 1/32 companies continue to produce innovative high quality products at market driven prices this market will thrive long term. Yeah, I know this is common sense.

Additionally, competition between this market segment (1/32) will continue to expand the market revenue shared by these companies and the product quality will evolve to point of attracting some 1/30 diehard collectors to this segment to obtain figures, vehicles, etc. not yet available to the 1/30 market despite scale differences. Hence, you might see some “crossover” business from 1/30 market segment in time.

However, this potential crossover business poses NO threat to KC. IMO, KC revenues will continue to be strong with revenues expanding due to Andy's business acumen and well earned market share following.

I hope my outlook is correct but time will tell and we'll know more by the time OTSN Show in Chicago in September if there is any apparent trend emerging. This could be a very exciting time.

Keep collecting and having fun,

Carlos
