Hi Napoleonic fans....
I was checking out Aleaxanders Toy Soldiers today and was most surprised to find that Nik has added even more figures to his 'Reteat to Cornna' series, this time the Rearguard.
This famous retreat in the winter of 1808 has been represented by ATS with about 30 figures or groups of figures and mainly show the bedraggled Britsih Army being hounded thorugh the winter to reach the post of Corunna and subsequently evacuated back to England.
This new group of 7 figures represent troops defending the evacuating coloumn and go up against the French skirmishers recently released, all in greatcoats. What I do like about these figures is that they are not wearing parade uniform. They look like real soldiers, with bits and pieces of uniforms, wearing overcoats over the uniforms, and in a variety of defensive poses.
Have a look and see them all on the ATS website, but I'm sure going to get this lot, and they will go nicely with the rest of my retreating coloumn, camp followers and all.......... here is my painting.

While you are there check out the vignette of GENERAL LASALLE WITH HIS A.D.C HAVING HIS SWORD SHARPENED READY FOR BATTLE... its beauty!!!!!
